No, but Luke has a friend in the industry or something like that, so he gets to know about this sort of thing before the rest of us.indecks wrote:Luke wrote:So the script for the new MUPPET MOVIE isn't perfect. Maybe the director could have done more with the human characters.
But go see it. You'll be humming and whistling the tunes from the movie weeks on end. And although it's not the best muppet movie, it lives up to it's name as a muppet movie.
Amazing how some carpet with a hand stuck up it is way more convincing and believable than any of the superheros featured in the past decade.

I was inspired to watch it for myself by the talk of it earlier in this thread. I watched it expecting it to be terrible, but I wasn't prepared for that horrific nightclub scene. I'm still scarred.

Ah, much better. Sort of like the first Mad Max, except with a bigger story, and even more crazy stunts. I thought the villains were really well done. Plenty of cool violence throughout.

X-Men: First Class. Loved it, but how come Emma Frost was in her 30s in this movie (set in the early '60s), but yet in the Wolverine movie (around the early '90s), she's somewhere in the 12-14 ballpark? Was January Jones' Emma Frost the mother of the one we saw in Wolverine? Aside from that, loved the 1960s aesthetic which seems to be catching on due to the popularity of Mad Men.
Though the popularity of the early '60s is kinda odd since it breaks the three-decade rule, that states that the '80s should be the in retro period (similarly, '80s revisited the '50s, '90s revisited the '60s, '00s revisited the '70s, and '10s revisit the '80s). But technically, in a cultural way, there's a two-year-spillover, that states that the last two years of one decade and the first two of the next count as either (so '88-'92 would count as both the '80s and '90s).

Yes, and no. But whatever, just go see it when it's released.indecks wrote: The movie is out?
If anyone is looking for a great, like super great, script read MUPPET MAN. It's an incredible read, but may never see the silver screen.
BEING ELMO - Very well put together doc that is a must see if you are, or have ever been, a fan of puppeteers.
CREATURE - Well. It has a creature in it.
ATTACK THE BLOCK - Again. Best movie of the year if you asked me, and still the best movie of the year if you didn't ask me. I'd say APES was the most surprisingly good movie of the year (face it, the trailer was a 2 out of 10) but as far as movies go, ATB is not all Internet hype; it's solid. Breath of fresh air it is.
edit* PUSS IN BOOTS seems like it will be a great family comedy.
SNOWMEN, on the other hand might be the best awful-good movies of the decade. I would highly suggest everyone sees SNOWMEN. Seriously, THE ROOM has some competition.

2011 Movies:
Blades of Glory
The Darjeeling Limited
Robin Hood: Men in Tights
Scream 4
Lions for Lambs
Shrek the Third
Kung Fu Panda
The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters *NEW*
Just got in three movies last night, and this was the first I watched. What did this movie do? Show that Steve Wiebe is an honest and awesome guy, show that Billy Mitchell has an ego larger than Mars, and confirm that that WAS Walter I pseudo-met last month.

First Class ignores Origins and X-Men 3 iirc.REPO Man wrote:X-Men: First Class. A friend of mine actually worked on that film. She works for one of the subcompanines of Henson.BoringSupreez wrote:No, but Luke has a friend in the industry or something like that, so he gets to know about this sort of thing before the rest of us.indecks wrote:Luke wrote:So the script for the new MUPPET MOVIE isn't perfect. Last movie I watched was Tron Legacy. I just love how they did it. It was a good sequel, made Jeff Bridges into a Jedi, and has a soundtrack by Daft Punk. I am tempted to buy the Bluray eventhough I dont have a bluray player...

Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
I watched a movie called Hunt to Kill, starring good ol' Stone Cold Steve Austin.
It was definitely a terrible film, but fun in that "yep, this is pretty much exactly what I expected" way, aside from the constant ridiculous choices made by the villain and protagonist.

As it rightly should.
