As recently as last Saturday I saw some dumbfuck toss their cigarette butt out the window, I bet that's what caused it.

F'ing smokers throwing their butts out the window. I mean, what the hell are they thinking? I'm not just referring to the fire hazard but the litter aspect of it.

The problem might be exacerbated now because many cars/trucks lack ash trays.

Or the fact that they still sell smokes.

No way. Hanzi is one of the easiest things in the world - it's just the enormity of it that is intimidating. Whenever I go to Japan I can always get around thanks to knowing Hanzi. I can only read 5% of the street signs but it's usually the 5% that counts.

You might be able to understand JP a bit but the characters are often not used in the same way. 手紙 for example.
