Man the hostility, HEHEHE.
we just dont like googling for someone elses sake.
Well said. It's nothing personal. It just gets my back up when people say incorrect things. It means I have to go out of my way to point out the correction. I can't help it. I just don't want anyone else getting the wrong end of the stick. I know it's silly.

I never said don't turn your console off either. I'm just saying that complaining about having to hack the console every time you want to boot homebrew is like complaining about having to have a shower in a morning. Sure you could not do it, but you reap none of the benefits from doing it.

Plus the fact that booting into TP to load homebrew is not that much of a chore really. It takes all of 2 minutes at the most. I think the fastest i've done it is about a minute. With the speed that the Wii loads up (almost instantly) coupled with the fact that there's zero intro movies to sit through. It's an almost irrelevant period of time.

Apparently, according to the devs, they say it's impossible for Nintendo to patch the exploit as it's the code in the game which is exploited. So the only way to patch it is to patch games before they are pressed. They can't patch the existing games.

I'm quite skeptical of this, as Sony managed to patch the GTA:LCS exploit on the PSP for the original hackable copies of the game. They just patched the code on the fly at boot of the game. That all depends on the architecture of the system though. It may or may not be possible for Nintendo to patch on the fly. We'll have to wait and see.

I can understand why they would want to stop it. Although Virtual Console sales haven't taken a hit despite the presence of emulators.

Only thing I can say, try it will you still can. You may never get the experience of doing it again in the future. If you already have a hackable copy of TP then it's completely free to try assuming you have a spare SD card. (if not, they're not exactly ball breakingly expensive, I just bought a 2GB one for £4 a few weeks ago for this very purpose) there's no real reason not to, it won't damage your Wii.

Once it works to a degree I find fully acceptable, I am just going to buy a second Wii. It may sound crazy, but if I can have all the functionality of the hacked one and still be able to play games, not to mention Wiiware, I think it is well worth the entrance fee. It is a helluva lot easier to transport two wiis and a bundle of controllers than a wii and an emulation/home theater PC - and I have a shuttle.

Heck Fate of Atlantis alone is almost enough for me to do this.

Well I managed to get it working.

Mouse control can be a bit flakey at the moment (it'll freak out and keep trying to go back to the same spot) but just moving the Wiimote off the side of the screen and back on tends to fix it. Tested out Monkey Island, Maniac Mansion, and Full Throttle. First two worked beautifully; it had problems with playing some of the videos in Full Throttle but after checking the ScummVM forums found that this was a general problem with that game.

Would I recommend getting an SD Card for this right now? No
Would I recommend keeping an eye on this for a future purchase of one? Yes

Hey, does The Dig work with this? Or I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream?

From what I have read, the Dig has some problems with the videos. But it does not seem to be a universal problem.

Actually this is not the topic for this but I figure I would ask anyway. Does anyone know of a db9 to gamecube adapter, like the NES to gamecube adapters that Retrousb sells? Genesis games just dont feel right without it.
