playing Misadventures of Tron Bonne on ps3

Post by jay_red »

Hey guys, just got myself a copy of Tron Bonne and it didnt cost me a fortune (but wasnt a steal either) and I started to play it on my ps3, and for the life of me cant figure out how to make the game work with analogue controls. The only thing I am assuming is that you need to press the analogue button on a dual shock 1 or 2 controller, which the ps3 controller lacks. I tried a ps2 controller with usb adapter and it seems that the start button does not respond, as i couldnt get past the title screen.

I could just play it on my ps2 but i put about 2 hours into it last night and would like to not start that over. Is there some trick I am missing? The game clearly states it supports this on the case BTW.

I think the analog 'button' is actually in the menu you get from pressing the PS button. I'd have to check later though.

Tron Bonne's a great game by the way. Kicking myself so much for never picking it up 6 or so years ago when I'd see it in bargain bins at places like Target.

As AppleQueso said it does indeed involve the home button.
Press it and then go to "Controller Settings", "Switch Analog Mode" and change the "Digital Mode" to "Analog Mode".
AFAIK every time you start a PS1 game, the controller will always be in digital mode, which is kind of annoying
Systems: Dreamcast (x2), GameGear, PS2 (2x), PSP Slim, PS3, Ds Lite, MegaDrive, PSPGo

Thanks for the hot tip, that was the solution to my problem, and it makes the controls much easier!

I think it make sense though. Isn't this the behavior on a normal PS1? As far as I know, there were only a small subset of games that actually supported the dual analog controller so making digital mode be the default seems ok.

Lots of games supported the controller, I don't think any required it.

Whether the controller defaults to analog mode is determined by the game itself. Some games can even enforce it on.
