Re: Childhood gaming frights! Share your stories!
I really can't find the source. I looked for a while at work earlier and I couldn't find anything but arguments on wether or not it is right. Anyways, lets not fight over where its most high, I'm just against people that go like this: Rural Person=Imbred.
So many city people seem to think this, and it is aggrivating.
And just for the record, I know of 3 or 4 families that were wiped out because the only people in town were relatives, and they were too isolated to find others, and they wouldn't go with their own people... so they died out. I could see the argument for country people before the introduction of vehicles, but now I just don't see it. Plus the fact that someone has to have problems mentally in the first place to imbreed.

I'm not really "fighting" over it as much as I'm questioning the veracity of your claim, since I couldn't find a source either. The Last Horseman wrote:I really can't find the source. Anyway, anyone can just make up a statistic to bolster whatever their argument is. 93% of people know that.

Congratulations, you're part of a group that has a negative stereotype associated with it. Just like the rest of society! The Last Horseman wrote:Anyways, lets not fight over where its most high, I'm just against people that go like this: Rural Person=Imbred.

When I was about 8 I rented a game at Blockbuster (I don't remember what game) but what I do remember was that in the case was instead a copy of Resident Evil!
Add to the fact I had no idea how to control my character...and yeah not a pleasant experience. I was afraid every time I put the disc into the system, but I kept trying to play it just to figure out if I could make it further without dying or getting scared.

As a kid, playing Friday the 13th at night, with the lights out and the sound up, (or headphones on,) Jason randomly appearing in a cabin and scaring the beejesus out of me was always my first favorite game-related scare...
Second is the dogs in the original Resident Evil crashing through the window.
Third - babies holding knives in Silent Hill...

Not neccesarily gaming related, but I bought a copy of Mad Max today, opened the case, and a copy of The Road was inside. Really. I screamed.
