Ikr? I watched the first two episodes, and it's the only anime I've yet seen that actually makes excessive fanservice funny.

That's a classic. On a slightly related note, I wish the Western-produced series Transformers: Animated was even half as awesome as the Japanese version intro made it look...

I freaking loved that show, and that is one of the best storylines from the show.
It was definitely the hight point of that series, but shouldn't this go in the Western animation thread?
Lol, I was about to say the same thing.
 I really did mean to put this in the Western Animation thread. Moving it over now.

So, I'm looking to buy another anime DVD/Blu-ray to add to my collection. I've got $24 to spend. I already own a bunch of romance anime and I'm trying to branch out to some different types. Either action or something with a bunch of mindless fanservice (Not exactly preferable, but it's still on my scale of interests). For action anime I've already got my eyes on Trigun or Samurai Champloo (Haven't watched either to completion but they both look promising).

So between those two and any others you guys think I might like, what would you recommend I look at spending my moneez on?

Have you checked out Black Lagoon? I wouldn't say it's got a lot of mindless fanservice, but Levy is a pretty badass hot tomboyish chick who kicks ass. It's in the vein of Bebop, Trigun, etc, good gun action kind of show.

Some people love Darker than Black, personally I thought it was decent, but maybe you'd like it more. It is a bit episodic though.

Gungrave is really good too, made by a lot of the same staff that did Trigun.

Still mainly just watching The iDOLM@STER.

Planning to start Steins;Gate as well as Tiger and Bunny too. And watched the first episodes of Katanagatari and Arakawa Under the Bridge to see if I might be interested in buying the BD sets.

If you like Evangelion get the rebuilds, they are the exact same thing as the show without filler and with absolutely astonishing animation.

If you like action you should get Fate/Stay Night, it's pretty cool, fast-paced and some scenes are mind blowing.

If you like comedy then get Fullmetal Panic Fummoffu, it's hilarious, light-hearted and fairly likeable. Also, it haves one of my favorite opening themes of all times.

As for other genres... I must admit I've been watching Seikon No Qwaser, it's pretty trashy, misoginistic and even offensive but it's fun to watch and it haves a great soundtrack.

Also, I can confirm that Gungrave is kick-ass.

Samurai Champloo and Trigun are both classics, you should watch them both. Trigun's first couple episodes can be a little slow and episodic - but once it gets rolling it's really good.

I started watching the original Series (Full Metal Panic) and I really enjoy it so far, so I'd give that a recommendation as well. It's still fairly funny plus with more action.
