What level hitting/pitching were you playing on and who were you hitting with?

first few rounds i was ripken by default because i didn't know how to select another player. pressing start is NOT the button you are supposed to push. also, in these few rounds i played at the slowest pitching.

once i learned not to push start and to push the C button, i've played as frank thomas, belle, griffey, etc. and i ramped the pitching up to max speed.

I think 495 may be the max FFCD.

On All Star pitching and Rookie hitting:

Hit 12 with Frank Thomas - longest was 486
Hit 10 with Ken Griffey Jr - longest was 480
Hit 3 with Joe Carter - longest was 474

I tried to keep it to guys not tied to steroids and also guys that ruined the 1993 World Series for me. :)

Must not let thread finish with less posts than Populous....we'll never get another sports game for Together Retro!

Any other HR derby thoughts or WSB '95 thoughts or heck - baseball in general?

I'm sure we will. We did Punch-Out!! and NBA Jam in the past. I really wanted to play this month, but I just couldn't seem to get it working anytime I tried.

To be fair, I think games like Punch-Out and NBA Jam kinda lend themselves to Together Retro more, mainly because the arcadey gameplay makes it more universal than a (fairly) serious baseball game.

I played a game on the 32X and plan to play the Saturn and Genesis ports as well before the month is out. I had thought about playing a run through the playoffs, but I don't have the patience for it this month.

The game is still one of the best of the era, but it hasn't aged exceptionally well beyond the pitching mechanics. Still, I am glad to be playing it as it represents something of a pinnacle of 2D baseball games.

Would you happen to be interested in trading/selling that 32x version?
