PS3 Power

Post by SpaceBooger »

My 2 and 3 year old love to push buttons and because I am worried about overheating my PS3 sits on top of my entertainment system in a prime position for my boys to push the power button on and off.
I know that they have already done it since I turned it on today and my theme settings were restored to the default.

My question is whether there is any problem if I unplugged the system's power from the back when not in use?

I don't think there would be any problem I just want to double check.
Thanks in advance.

I don't do anything custom on my PS3 and it was in the box for about 6 months. When I plugged it back in everything seemed fine except the time was off by about 10 minutes.

it will be fine, you won't lose anything. It has a hard drive to store information remember? Not a battery powered memory chip ;)

I would just flip the power switch on the backside of the unit.

Sigh. IF this was a real problem people would know about it by now. Read up on volatile and non-volatile memory :)

Yeah, that's what I was gonna say. Would the kids get at that switch as well?
