Sega has a power bar / power strip

Post by shmupBaker »

I actually had been looking for a power strip for all my old systems when I came across this awesome blast from the past.

Can't really find them anywhere though. Of course I checked eBay. Anyone selling these? I remember they were pretty common back then.

I have one of these, but am not selling it. I think "Sega power strip" was the official name BTW. Good luck finding one! I assume eBay and a lot of patience will be your best bet.

It's really great for hooking up a SMS/Genesis/Sega CD/32X, and even has enough room for a Game Gear! Mine has had a few plastic bits break off inside, but it still works fine, for now.

 I want one!

All my power octopus connections are hidden under the table. This is one of the few power strips I would proudly display.

I've been keeping my eye out for one of these lately. They sure are cool.

Never thought I'd say that about something as mundane as a power strip, but there you go.

These are pretty sexy. The price has skyrocketed ever since they were featured on Classic Game Room, and they're not that easy to find on ebay either.

Good luck finding one of these!

Wow. These should have been included with the Sega CD and/or 32X. Getting power to a Sega tower is such a pain normally.

Sega needed this power strip for the three wall wart plugs required for the Genesis trio.

When I first read the thread title I thought I was gonna see a Sega power bar, like an energy bar. THAT would be fucking fantastic!

I love that guy's reviews. It's probably because we share similar tastes for awesome games.

I have two of those that I got at EB when they were clearing them out. It was 10+ years ago and I think I was only working P/T at the time but I remember them being $5-ish.
Thing is though, after all this time, would they even be safe to use??? :?
