Yeah I'd say its about 20, though I didn't time myself when I played it.
Grinding puts a dent in that time, as well any time spent lost in dungeons.
If you're willing to get a guide to navigate the dungeons (no shame in that you ask me, some are simply crazy) it'll be faster.
What RPG are you playing right now?

I think brunoafh told me to maybe just jump into III or IV first instead, not sure though. I definitely want to check them out someday though along with some old DQ games finally for once, after FFII (PSP) and FFIII (NES) this year though I think I need a break from pure dungeon crawlers, lol. I'm still in a crazy RPG mood, but yeah FFIII was nuts, pretty sure I spent about 10 hours on the final dungeon(s) alone and it took the second of the two weeks I played it to grind through to the end. Not a pushover lol.

I just beat Dragon Warrior I. That was an amazing game. About to go into II.

What do you guys think of ...
Breath of Fire
Breath of Fire 2
Lufia
Lufia 2
Learning towards one of these for my next game I think. Honesty I will probably go with the first game of either series since it probably just makes more sense that way. But yeah just curious to hear some opinions on these.
Or maybe I'll hit up Final Fantasy Mystic Quest, lol...

Everquest II if that counts, it's an mmo but still an rpg. I created a fae paladin, wears white armor and I gave him golden wings so I really think the compiment of colors really bring out a real nice visual.

Are you struggling to load it to photobucket or to here? If the latter, you want to copy the 'direct link' from photo bucket and paste it into your post. then highlight the link and click the 'Img' button above the textbox to put it in image tags. That, or just type [*img]*your direct link here[*/img] without the *.AdamGomez1987 wrote:Everquest II if that counts, it's an mmo but still an rpg. Breath of Fire is fun. The translation is somewhat bare-bones but it's a solid game. Breath of Fire 2 has a very spotty translation; if you're playing on ZSNES look for the retranslation patch to get the story cleaned up. Lufia feels like an NES game that was given 16-bit graphics (barely). The biggest issue is that it doesn't retarget when a monster dies so you do nothing. There's also a boss battle early on that's a duel and is a massive pain in the ass. That said, it's a fun game. However, I'd recommend Lufia 2 first. Lufia 2 is a prequel (and the events of the end are played through in Lufia) and it has a lot of much needed refinements. Plus, it adds a lot of Zelda-esque puzzle solving to the dungeons, making them more engaging.Xeogred wrote:What do you guys think of ...

So of the four, I'd say either Lufia 2 or BoF1. BoF2 has enough story hooks to the original that you should play the original first.

I've been playing Dragon Quest VI for DS. I'm only a couple hours in, but it's a lot of fun.
