I use a 33'' Sony Trinitron. It's the best set I've ever used for classic gaming.

I really just have one TV that things are hooked up to, a Samsung S4243 42" ED Plasma.
Flickering sprite shadows from older consoles can sometimes look a bit janky, but the fact that it is ED not HD actually works really well most of the time.
