Vib-Ribbon [Video Review]

Post by emwearz »

A rhythm based game for the Playstation created by NanaOn-Sha, which never got a release in America. It has the unique feature of being able to load the game into the systems ram, then generate levels based on what music CD you have in the system.

A real hidden gem for the system.

It is a different style review to my others, mainly because it's not the type of game you can have a fast review with a montage of footage in the background.

Weird, I was looking through some of my brother's old PS1 games that he's left here, just earlier today, and "borrowed" Vib Ribbon out of his collection. Then I see your review here. Nice review, emwearz.

I have fond memories of playing that game back in the day. I remember my brother's mate and I used to try and find the craziest, most insane music ever to try and make it as difficult as possible lol. My God I remember it being really hard though. I'll have to give it a play tomorrow when I have some free time.

There have been quite a few copies on eBay Australia, just never at a price I wanted to pay. How much content is in the Demo?

Not very much, just the tutorial and the first level.

When I was younger I always thought the game was a platformer.

Cheers jfe2.

There is a guy that made a clone of this game to play in your browser using your MP3s. It's called Vib Ribboff. It's not available to the public yet, but you can see the video demo and find out about updates to the game here:
