What are your favorite 8-bit era RPGs?
It seems everyone is always talking about SNES, PS1, and PS2 rpgs. What are your favorites from the days of the NES and the Sega Master System?

I didn't even know rpgs existed back then
Final Fantasy 3 on the SNES would end up blowing my mind. I was like holy crap, how long has this amazing genre existed!?

I need to hit up Crystalis someday.
I can't say I've played very many 8-bit RPG's I guess. I definitely had a to of fun playing FFIII (NES) just a few weeks ago though. Really pushed the NES to the limit for sure. Story was non-existent, but it had great gameplay, graphics, music, and a lot of other stuff that made up for it.

Phantasy Star. No other 8-bit RPG I've played comes close really.

Had a feeling someone would say this. Not surprised at all, definitely looks way ahead of its time compared to other 8-bit RPG's.AppleQueso wrote:Phantasy Star. No other 8-bit RPG I've played comes close really.

Put in another one for Phantasy Star.
Everything else can take a flying leap.
Well, not everything I guess, but you get the idea.
