I'm really wanting a new game in the true SMT franchise. While the spin offs are all amazing, something rare for anybody to accomplish, has anybody else been hoping and wishing for SMT5? Strange Journey was good and all, but I want something to come out with more of Nocturne's style, and for home consoles of course.

Or what if Atlus decides to localize SMT 1 and 2 and package them in a single game? That would be amazing!

I think a localization/remake of the first two Megami Tensei games is pretty unlikely, even by Atlus standards. I remember when listening to Retronauts for their Persona episode, Atlus' localization director said that after looking at all the potential release options, there would be very little chance of getting the necessary return on the investment of localizing them.

Yeah. Every time somebody asks this, going all the way back to the release of Revelations even, that's pretty much been the answer. A man can still dream though and play fan translations until the dream is achieved. Its not the same though!

Gamespot gave this game a 5 out of 10.

Well, I'll be damned. I'm glad I stopped listening to Gamespot many years ago. I find I don't agree with most of their reviews. And didn't you know? Gamespot doesn't like hard games.

Yes indeed. Despite Gamestop being the first game review site I ever frequented, I almost always disagree with the reviewer's opinions on the games. I have a feeling that I will still like this game.

I actually found the review to be helpful. :|

I'll leave it at that though. Too tired to care about typing something up right now.

Well, it is important to respect reviews as a personal opinion, hopefully without any outside influence, of the game itself, it shouldn't be a statement forcing you to either buy or boycott it.

I do respect the reviewer's mention of the game's aged graphics and gameplay, and the maybe the over-hype by SMT fans as the missing chapter of the Persona series; she did mention there is a better Persona game on the PSP - Persona 3 Portable.

Even playing Persona 1, I do realize the game isn't polished in some areas, but may be worth your time, if you want to complete the Persona series.

The reviewer complained that the battle system of an RPG was menu based. I'm not sure how you can take anyone seriously after that.

Yeah I don't really trust big-to-do sites for rpg gameplay. I read the review to get a general idea of the plot/setting and what's been added to this version of the game.
