It's really tough to master it. I'd suggest playing online; you'll need to learn it quite quickly to keep up.

Well, yeah. I don't snake unless I need to, which is basically if everyone else is doing it. Including for the world records on MKDS; snaking was not banned, so why put myself at a disadvantage?D.D.D. wrote:And that's just one of the reasons why MKDS sucks online.YoshiEgg25 wrote:Get a light kart, drift one way, after you get the boost, immediately drift the other way.elmagicochrisg wrote:Aargh !!!

However, I prefer not to snake; it's not really racing at all.

I could be looking for excuses, but maybe the fact that I play it on a DSi XL makes it harder to pull it off. The DSi XL has clicky buttons for both direction and ABXY. The DSi works with those rubber pads which make instant contact. So it would be nice to know if anyone has mastered this on a DSi XL and / or if they found it harder / impossible to pull off...
Anyways, my thumb is killing me today... lol

Ah, that could be a reason. I have a DS phat, so it's pretty simple for me.elmagicochrisg wrote:I could be looking for excuses, but maybe the fact that I play it on a DSi XL makes it harder to pull it off. And as for your thumb...back in May, I played four hours of MKDS going for the world records that I did, with constant snaking throughout, along with another six hours of Pokemon Pinball. You think YOUR thumb hurts.

Smile: After losing 8 in a row on SFIIHD against Sevin, I finally won a grueling 3 round match.
Ticked: 3 seconds after the match, sevin ym'd, "That was the boy. Next match is me again."

Brings me back to my SF II on SNES days. All this rubbing Hadokens and Shoryukens out of the controller for hours on end once gave me a tripple blister. Got a blister, cut the skin away. Got a blister on the new skin. Cut it away, again. And actually managed to grow a third blister on top of that. Those were the hardcore days... lol
You actually have the world record on MKDS?... Impressive...
