A Few Saturn Questions Regarding Software...

Post by CD AGES »

Please forgive me if i'm posting this topic on the wrong part of the Forum or if i'm even allowed to post my own topics as i'm fairly new to this community so please accept my apologies. I have a few questions that run through my head concerning my favorite console of the 5th generation, the (appearantly overrated lol!) Sega Saturn. I was wondering if someone can shed some light on a few things. Thanks to all who provide insight and answers to my question...

1. Is it common or normal for a 4meg Action Replay Cart to go all nutty on its respective menus when powering on the Saturn without a controller inserted???
2. I've known (and i'm sure most saturn owners as well know) that Street Fighter Zero 2 (Alpha 2 in Japan) seems to be region free and compatible with U.S. Saturn systems. Is any one aware the the US version of Virtual On is region free and will boot on a Japanese Saturn?
3. Are there any other Saturn titles (either from Japan or US) that are region free?
4. Is the U.S. version of Virtual On compatible with the Saturn Vs. link Cable?

Thanks SOO much for any response you can provide! :D

Here is a list of all region-free Saturn games:

SF Zero 2 is not region-free (I just tried it on a stock US Saturn). I don't know where people get that idea from.

I don't think I ever tried this but I wouldn't be surprised. It works fine if you have the controller in it, right?
