Yeah not to go on a gun control tirade but, guns in the house seem to cause more problems than keeping the British at bay.BoringSupreez wrote:Unless it was obvious that the kid was thinking about suicide, I wouldn't blame the parent. Let's get off it, it happened, and there's nothing we can do about it. Idk if I should go to his funeral, though, I probably will. I also agree with BoringSupreez, his parents are very good ones. He was a good kid, I have no clue what happened to make him do that.

I don't know if you saw my edit, but I also said:D.D.D. wrote:Yeah not to go on a gun control tirade but, guns in the house seem to cause more problems than keeping the British at bay.BoringSupreez wrote:Unless it was obvious that the kid was thinking about suicide, I wouldn't blame the parent. Consider this: had the dad known his son was thinking about suicide, and had put away the gun, it wouldn't have stopped him. If that kid was determined, he'd just have done it with pills or a knife or by jumping off a bridge.

Nah didn't see the edit. True, anyone determined will find a way. Hell, you can kill yourself by downing a bottle of caffeine pills too.
Still, you don't see news like, "Thank god we had the gun in the house or everyone would be dead", it's usually, "x-person found available gun somewhere in the house, playing around or just handling it... inadvertent tragedy happened, regret all around".

We usually do a decent job of hiding it.AmericanMuffin wrote:He wasn't depressed for all I knew.
I actually took meds for depression for 10 years before I finally got off them a couple years ago. You wouldn't guess that I was depressed except for the days when I forgot to take my pill (though I had some high dosages).
Sorry to hear about it; suicide sucks and I hope I never have to hear about someone I know doing the deed.

Re: What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?
I'm not so sure about that. A gun is quick and painless, like pressing a button. Jumping off a cliff, slashing your wrists or taking pills isn't. I would never want a gun in my house, because I know there have been moments that I would've been very tempted to use it. Knowing that of myself scares me enough to NEVER have that 'easy way out' at my disposal in my house...BoringSupreez wrote:Consider this: had the dad known his son was thinking about suicide, and had put away the gun, it wouldn't have stopped him. As for the dad not being responsible if his son didn't show any signs. Sorry, I don't buy that. Teens are on an emotional rollercoaster during their puberty. They should be protected against themselves sometimes during those years...
This doesn't mean I don't feel for the parents. On the contrary. I feel their pain and I wished they didn't have to go through this. Even the best parents make mistakes. They have my deepest sympathy...

Funerals for non relatives are a great place to meet girls in vulnerable emotional states, I say go.AmericanMuffin wrote: Let's get off it, it happened, and there's nothing we can do about it. Get a light kart, drift one way, after you get the boost, immediately drift the other way.elmagicochrisg wrote:Aargh !!!

It's really tough to master it. I'd suggest playing online; you'll need to learn it quite quickly to keep up.
