Finally new Saturn -> usb adapters!!

Post by deathsled »

After being upset for the longest time that the Mayflash 3 in 1 adapter that had a Saturn port was long since out of production someone has stepped up and is offering a solution:

I purchased a Saturn -> USB adapter about a week ago and it arrived today. It does everything it said it would. I've tried my normal controller, my arcade stick, and my analog pad as well. I'm stoked at how well the analog pad works. I'll be using it for modern racing games from now on I think!

He also makes a ton of other controller adapters as well. Great stuff!

The only problem is, isn't a lot of Saturn emulation pretty wacky and hit or miss?

I guess these could certainly be used for other emulators and such though, heh.

the controllers are great for all sorts of emulator use. They're great for fighting games since they have 6 face buttons and the dpad is practically legendary.

And you couldn't be more wrong about Saturn emulation. SSF will play practically anything perfectly. I'm comfortable selling my hardware and games it's so good.

This is actually awesome. I've really wanted to try a Saturn pad for PC shmups and this will be the only decent way to do it at this point.

Guess that's what I get for not having even tried SSF out myself yet, haha.

I've been dreaming of using something like this to use my Arcade stick with Jamestown, but $27 is kinda pricey.... Guess I better start saving them pennies!

you can also just get the built circuit or even just the parts if you want to put one together for yourself.

Since this made all the controllers I have usable it was worth it to me. I've been trying to get a hold of one of the Mayflash adapters for YEARS.

The analog Saturn pad on it is sweet. The triggers are full on analog triggers perfect for racing games and I love the analog stick on this controller. I don't know any other controller that has something like it, this little sphere with the rotate-y bit on top....

I dont trust my self enough to make one myself, I'll leave it to the professional and shell out an extra $7.

I actually daisy chain two EMS adapters; their Saturn-on-DC adapter and their DC-to-USB adapter. Had this come out a few months earlier, I would have been much happier. As it stands, Raphnet's single USB is cheaper and more convenient than buying two adapters. (I wouldn't know how to measure lag with the dual-EMS setup though.)
My scheduling skills have died of dysentery; I hope to visit at least on a monthly basis.
Still, don't forget to tip your waitress.
