Hello to all! First, I read this site and forum since many month now, but I never register myself as a member. Now, it's done! What a great site!
I was wondering why there is no guides for the original black and white Game Boy and I want to know if there is an interest from many of us for this handheld system. It can be interesting to create an article in common and publish it on racketboy, because I think this is a topics that not so many website talk about. ANd recently, I rerere-discover this beautiful machine and I want some games to play, but no guides are written correctly.
What's your opinion?

I have wanted to do some, but I'm not as well-versed in the handheld as I used to be. Mine died a tragic death a few years ago and I haven't emulated much. If anybody wants to volunteer to work on some, the would be more than welcome!

Are you asking me or him?fastbilly1 wrote:Do you want a 101, hidden gems, or just an overview?
Personally, I would like to see them in this order:
Games That Defined
Hidden Gems
Best For Today (still worth playing if you have a GBA or DS)
101

GB games are overpriced?Curlypaul wrote:Yeah this would be cool, someone gave me a GBPocket the other week in nice condition but no games. I would love to know which game to look for, other than the obvious ones that tend to be overpriced
I did not know that....

Well, I'm not much good with hidden gems, as I was only 10 when I was in the Gameboy era, but heres my list of games that defined the system.
Tetris
Pokemon
Super Mario Land
Super Mario Land 2 6 Golden Coins
Wario Land, Super Mario Land 3
Legend of Zelda Link's Awakening
Metroid II
Kirbys Dreamland
Donkey Kong Land 1, 2 and 3 (Just for attempting to port those Snes graphics to the GB)
Really, most of the classic games on the system were ports of NES games. I'd be happy to help in any way in writing the article Racketboy, PM me and I'll give any assistance I can.

I'm totally agree with this order. Except the 101 written at the beginning can be useful. And I'm ok to write it.racketboy wrote:Are you asking me or him?fastbilly1 wrote:Do you want a 101, hidden gems, or just an overview?

How can we send our guides to be approved and added to rBOY?

I just buy Super Mario Land, Donkey Kong Land 2, Kid Icarus for 30 USD. No box, but with booklet. I think it is a normal price.racketboy wrote:GB games are overpriced?Curlypaul wrote:Yeah this would be cool, someone gave me a GBPocket the other week in nice condition but no games. In my opinion, overpricing is something like Tetris DS : 50 USD used
andymol21 and PresidentLeever, thank you for your lists!
I'm a big fan of the Super Gameboy. Except having the link cable option is really fun on certain games. I really thought the Flying Warriors game was pretty fun with 2 players.
The games do seem a bit over priced, though. They still sell them at gamestop and sometimes they are listed over 15 a piece for Super Mario World and FF Adventure. Thats a rip. They are just trying to get little kids (well...their parents) to fork out the cash.
