Video Game "Look what I found"
Re: Video Game "Finds of the Day"
Looking at the junk electronics at the DAV found a Gamewave DVD game system. Not a lot of games but for $6.98 it makes a great back up dvd player.

This is intriguing. Maybe there are some game discs buried in the pile of CDs at the store. Pics?GamerMON wrote:Looking at the junk electronics at the DAV found a Gamewave DVD game system. Not a lot of games but for $6.98 it makes a great back up dvd player.

Grabbed Zelda Four Swords GCN, complete in "box". Came with the Gameboy Adv. adapter. $10.
Did I get a deal on this thing?

Goodwill rules! Guess your local one does not. The ones around here always price carts at $2, pretty much across the board. Just today I picked up three N64 I did not have games: Paperboy 64, Hey you Pikachu!, and Starfox 64, at $2 each.Hazerd wrote:GoodWill and PawnAmerica can eat shit, and heres why.
But the real find of the day is something very unexpected. I saw two beat up PS2 controllers, and while looking them over, noticed one of the was plugged into a small white box with a cord. Thinking it was some kind of PS2 peripheral, upon closer inspection realized it was a PS2 to Dreamcast controller adapter for $2. Fuck Yeah! Finally playing Nester DC with a decent D-pad feels great!
I've wanted one for a while, but not willing to spend much, because a DIY PS2/DC controller has been a project i've tinkered with a bit. The existence of the adapter has been pointed out to me, but I liked the idea of making my own, since i've got a bunch of DC and PS2 controllers collecting dust and the tools to do it. Now im thinking a PS2 pad in a NES controller shell would be the thing to do.

The CIB game/case/art/instructions is about $10. If you got the outer cardboard box w/gba link cable, that is around $18-25+ depending on minty freshness.wclem wrote:Grabbed Zelda Four Swords GCN, complete in "box". Came with the Gameboy Adv. adapter. $10.

Didn't see any in the dvd section. Gonna buy a game or two online for it but it is defiantly a novelty dvd player.CRTGAMER wrote:This is intriguing. Sure you can - and that's really how you maximize the B2G2.Kahokian wrote:Ok thanks but what exactly do you mean by that? So I cant buy 2 15 dollar games than get 2 other 15 dollar games free? Because at a game stop a few cities over from me has a huge amount of ps2 games and it just says B2G2 at the top of the ps2 rack.
I bought 8 at one store and the guy rung it up weird where random ones were free - and not the cheapest necessarily. I wasn't complaining but your mileage may vary.

the thing i dislike about goodwill is that they are, at their core, a for-profit business that receives the bulk of their merchandise for literally NOTHING. marking something someone gave you at current market value may be their right, but it seems a little absurd when the only money put into the product in the first place was paying someone to process it, put a label on it, and put it on a shelf. (and i guess overhead costs, etc, but yeah)Hobie-wan wrote:Sure you don't like the price but there's this funny thing called a free market. That price is in line with the current value of the game. Sure it sucks if you aren't able to get a deal but the righteous indignation that people are getting against Goodwill because they're not getting something for less than 50% of market value is getting tiring.Hazerd wrote:GoodWill and PawnAmerica can eat shit, and heres why.
i goto GoodWill today and look for some games, usually they have nothing but stupid sport games for dirt cheap, well i see a SNES game in there glass case and low and behold its Super Metroid, which is always a good score and they want fucking $24.99 for it! thats not a deal and certainly shouldnt be priced that high at GoodWill considering they got it for free.
but i'm a total hypocrite because i go there all the time anyway. sometimes you get a good deal, other times you get frustrated. oh well.
