i just didnt like it, it was ok i mean sure for PC gaming and stuff but it just wasnt appealing to me.Mozgus wrote:Well I did ask for your reason and still haven't gotten one. Not trying to be a jerk but lol.
So again, reason?
Wait, did you edit that post? Be honest.

There are no Fry's in my state, and like I said before, the bravias don't offer the specs I need.peace4myheart wrote:With 500 dollars, you should have a lot of options. One is the 23" sony bravia which is around the same price or less at Fry's Electronics. I always like the picture quality of Sony television. Just a suggestion.

Great place for cables: www.monoprice.comMozgus wrote:Yeah, I plan on using a DVI to HDMI adapter. They're very cheap, it seems. Or just a dvi to hdmi cord to avoid a bulky adapter hanging off the tv, but that will need to be ordered through newegg, as HDMI cables are overpriced at retail.
For the price of the 32" Sony, I could get a 37" Vizio. My friend has the 37" model and it looks outstanding. I've seen the Bravias in action though, and I do agree they look better, but not enough to warrant the extra cash in my opinion. Sony even made a public statement, whining about Vizio offering quality TVs at a very low price. That's the only reason the Bravias have come down, because they are getting the shit kicked out of them in the US market. If it weren't for the Vizio's, that 32" Bravia would still be around $1,200. I think I'd rather support the underdog and help the LCD market come down to more reasonable prices.RyaNtheSlayA wrote:Dude... A serious peice of advice, save 150 extra dollars, and buy a Sony Bravia 32" 1080i, the speaker is very decent if you turn the bass up a couple notches and the color is vivid and has a better contrast ration over the Visio, I have both, (one upstairs, a Sony downstaires, and a Hitachi in the living room) and by far the Sony is the best looking and sounding.
Got another idea. I go for a strictly PC monitor, 22inch, generally 210-250 dollars, and then I buy a vga converter unit such as this to make use of the monitor's VGA port, while my PC uses the DVI port.

It goes up to a 22inch's native res. I'm just wondering if it would be better or worse than the TV's built in upscaler I linked to in the first post.

You just reminded me of something! I saw this monitor at Circuit City a while back, a 22" Gateway with component inputs. Might be worth looking into...Mozgus wrote:Got another idea. The component inputs aren't listed in the specs on the CC site, but I've seen the monitor up close and the official Gateway site has them listed as well...

Also, stay away from those Kworld products. Both a VGA box and video capture card I bought of that brand ended up being pieces of shit.
I've never been able to find a good capture card ever since my 3dfx one had a brightness issue in XP. I've tried like 3 capture cards since that one, all highly rated ones on newegg, and all were shit. I dont know why this industry cant make a good capture card, but I gave up long ago.Flak Beard wrote:You just reminded me of something! I was hoping the VGA box would be a better option because it doesnt need to rely on any software to function.
Just having component won't do a lot for me. It also doesn't seem to indicate that it will display interlaced signals via component at all, which kinda makes it worthless for most PS2 games, and probably the HDLoader menu itself. That KWorld box comes with a PS2 component cable of sorts, which saves me $20 right there because I need one of those.
If I'm paying that much for a 22inch monitor, I might as well go with this one for a bit less.

Same price there as on newegg, and its practically the highest rated 22inch there is.

Have you even seen a Vizio in action? They are pretty damn good, especially for the prices. Sure there are better TVs out there, but it's a real stretch to call them "garbage bin" TVs. Not everyone has thousands of dollars to invest in something that looks only marginally better.opticledilusi0n wrote:lg is a good set
i'd go for a sharp if it's affordable
vizio is bargain basement prices at garbage bin quality !
