I'm calling BS on the image.
Don't believe me? First of all, look at the thumbstick in the main picture, it's a composition of two images photoshopped together HORRIBLY. Look at the light reflection above the stick if you don't believe m.

Image

Second of all, looking at all the pictures of this that are out confirms it doesn't plug into the 3ds anywhere at all. Well where the hell does the thing plug into then?!

Famitsu confirmed the report, and I sure as hell believe them. Not only that, but that probably is only a mockup of what it'll look like; therefore, Photoshopped (poorly).

I don't really know what to make of it. On one hand, Nintendo should've put a second pad on there originally. On the other, it's much less bulky without that pad and it's not required for all games. Kind of like a Sega CD, I guess.

Here we go a right nub, and a $170 price tag to clear out current models for the 'lite' with new built in nub retailing at $199.99 right around the corner.

Or will this become the new Sega Genesis/CD/32X?
Aha! I was holding off on a 3DS purchase until these rumors went one way or the other, looks like I have my verdict. I'm waiting for the revision model with 2nd pad built in, no way I want that huge ugly attachment thing.

And with any luck the revision will have a bigger screen (And dare I hope, a longer battery life. That's still a real sticking point with me.). That little mock-up or whatever the hell it is, hurts my sense of balance.

Next model of 3DS:

- larger/brighter screens
- louder speakers
- longer battery life
- better stylus placement
- second slide pad and two more shoulder buttons
- complete removal of 3D along with a name change (wishful thinking)

I agree.

As for the name... how about.... "The good one."

I'm putting my money on 3DS DS (dual stick).
