Re: What are you playing?
Yeah, in TO LuCT the special units you get are still pretty vanilla and don't dominate like all the special units in FFT. I like the stories in TO a lot more and I like the class system more than FFT's job system I guess you could say.
As noise said though, FFT is still great.

Ya they are usually just slightly better and have a unique sprite and portrait. I still use my vanilla guys often.Xeogred wrote:Yeah, in TO LuCT the special units you get are still pretty vanilla and don't dominate like all the special units in FFT. Started up Soul Blazer for now and it's pretty fun. I think I mixed it up with some game for years, because this is way different and better than... whatever else I was thinking of. Still gotta beat Illusion of Gaia someday as well.
Re: What are you playing?
Trying to tackle Shin Megami Tensei (Emu) and Devil Survivor (NDS) at the same time. Well I'm not playing it at the same time but switching between the two.
For Shin Megami Tensei I'm using a guide and all the help I can find online. Devil Survivor with no help.

Thanks everyone...

I finally got Tactics Ogre: Knights of Lodis, and even though I've only put in about two hours, I like it. I loved FFTA, so I assumed this one would be easy to get into, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that there are a lot of differences. Tactics Ogre seems to have some unique gameplay mechanics that I look forward to exploring, even though I'm a little overwhelmed because I only play it here and there for very short periods of time.

Xenoblade. Pretty fun. Just don't have much time to play it but the save system is great; anytime, anywhere. Perfect for my busy schedule.
After Soul Blazer and Illusion of Gaia, the 3rd is Terranigma. Supposedly there is a 4th but the name escapes me now and I heard it wasn't particularly great either so meh~

Re: What are you playing?
Yup, Terranigma I beat last year which was great. I plan to hit up Illusion of Gaia again and beat it after finishing the new Deus Ex (which I think I'm close to the end in). I never heard there was a 4th game in this loosely based "trilogy" though, maybe you're thinking of Actraiser? I know the same developers from these games made that series as well.

Playing Metroid Prime 2: Echoes for Gamecube. I'm hooked. It completely draws you in with it's creepy atmospheric landscape and eerie music.
Just picked up the 3rd one, Corruption, for Wii, too. So I have that to play through with it's shiny next-gen graphics right after finishing this masterpiece.

Great game. My first playthrough I was ignorant of Snapdragon swords (or whatever the deal was, been quite a while) and managed to beat it without them. The game was even better the second time when I figured them out. I had the most fun with making multiple Rings of the Dead and adding a few uber powerful Lichs to my party. Lots of secrets and exploitable glitches... got A and B endings, have long had a save file destined for A+.
