Retro Game Store Visit: Toys n Joys (Pics)

Post by hashiriya1 »

Of all the retro game stores I have visited in the U.S., this is the best one. Not only
for their selection, but their reasonable prices. Everything is, for the most part, well
organized and presented well. This shop is also the closest I have seen to Japanese
game stores, which is what this store is striving for. If any of you visit Honolulu, this
store is well worth a visit.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. They allowed me to take pictures so that I could
share them online (free advertising). In addition to games this place sells all kinds of anime goods,
plastic models, Japanese toys, and anything else that would please a Japanophile geek.
You can't tell from the pictures because I only took pics of the the games, but the store is fairly large.

Toys n Joys has two locations on Oahu. I visited the Kaimuki store located
at 3632 Waialae Ave in Honolulu. This shop is located in a small non-touristy
shopping street in Honolulu, Hawaii.

They have an online store as well but it seems their online prices are a bit higher
than their in-store prices.

Wow, thats epic.

Not nearly as epic, but Space Cat in San Jose is my favorite local store.

Any store with copies of Border Down, Under Defeat, and Zero Gunner 2 is a winner in my books

I've shopped at their online store before. The brick and mortar store looks amazing. I would love to visit if it was near me.

Thanks for sharing those pics. I've had some great deals in the past on their DC imports.
