I use to be off on Mondays. Damn, I miss that. I would get paid for 4 hours today whether I work or not, and I got time and a half for the hours I did work. Not a bad deal, for my shitty job.

Sounds like a Grad assistant. My job when doing that was to collect free money, and maybe grade papers once a semester.

I wish I could say it was something awesome, but it's not. I am currently employed with Waldbaums Inc. It's unionized, so I get decent benefits. Though, A&P, the parent company, is currently Chapter 11 and in negotiations with the Union on our new contract. We might get shafted, but no one really knows yet. The company wants to take away a lot of benefits. Which is pretty retarded considering I heard a rumor they have hidden assets. Normally, you'd take that as a rumor that couldn't possibly be true. But they had enough money to pay huge "incentive bonuses" to all their upper management, and it leaked that their ahead on their payments. So yeah, what a douche bag company, but what company like this isn't completely full of shit?

On that note, I'm thinking about going back to school in January. Nothing major, just a community college for an associates degree. But hey, it's a start. I might push it back to next fall semester. I heard you get better financial aid after you're 25, and I'm 24 now (my birthday is in July).

I know a few pundits from A&P, and I'm surprised I haven't heard more about Waldbaums before. And an associates degree is something major, don't downplay it. You're showing ambition and initiative, and other than a strong bottom line, that's what your company wants to see from you. Congrats and good luck on your future endeavors.
