I have two HKT-7700 NTSC Dreamcast controllers. I got them used, today, with my very first Dreamcast! Unfortunately, both controllers have slight problems, and I wanted to order a brand new controller online.
Basically, my question is this: Was there ever a known "bad" run of official controllers that I should be aware of, or will any NTSC, PAL or JP controller do?
It may be a silly question, but after finding this forum, and seeing that it still had active members, I thought "Hey, why not, right?"
Thanks so much.
Are all genuine Dreamcast controllers the same, tech-wise?

To my knowledge the only controller that is different from the other regions is the Light gun games, they even made it to where you couldn't use a Japanese lightgun on the American version of HOTD2, because of the Columbine shootings.
Other than that, all peripherals are region free, and work on any DC from any region, so they should all be the same tech wise.

yeah, all official controllers are pretty much the same. There are color differences though.
after a while tho, the analog stick sometimes doesnt stay in the same place. Its probably just from overuse.
Remember not to mess with the L/R triggers when you turn on the dreamcast cause then they wont function properly. wait till the game is fully loaded.
If you're not too sure, and cause they are used, you can open them up and give them a nice cleaning. It really does help out.

Yup! DC 1st party controllers rock out
they just need care like everything else. And if used controllers ain't your thing, there is still a fresh supply of new DC controllers out there (especially in europe).

Never underestimate sensitivity when it comes to events like that. Similar stuff happened after 9/11.D.D.D. wrote:F'real? That has to be the most knee-jerk bizarro logic I've ever heard.AppleQueso wrote:Never underestimate sensitivity when it comes to events like that. How can an atrocity committed with real weapons in a school be equated to shooting zombies with a plastic gun!?
And yet real guns were still allowed to be bought...
Reaction to school shooting:
[ ] ban the sale of real guns
[x] ban the sale of Dreamcast lightgun
my brain is full of fuck
