yeah that part's great. And I agree, the kind of Nintendo dude vs Sega dude doesn't really need to be played up. Just my opinion. Just be two game fans on a couch, and be yrselves and I think the chemistry will present itself as you both seem knowledgeable and serious about the games. Just positive feedback, honestly.alienjesus wrote:Yeah, I'm not too keen on the sega vs nintendo guy comedy stuff - without trying to be mean, the delivery isnt fantastic and its a boit overdone. I really love how you show all of the games in the series though, and I'm especially fond of the bit where you show the ports running side by side.

Re: Game Sack
just watched the Run N Gun episode, which was really good too. Less of the N vs Sega shtick. It felt more comfortable as just being a Nintendo enthusiast and Sega enthusiast talking about what they each knew. I noticed in that one that segments felt a bit like the dialogue was being read from a script -- but again, I'm not dissing. This is my constructive criticism as I really like the show and plan to keep watching. Most video reviews bore me, but I like that you guys go over multiple games, in enough details, but keep things moving so you cover a lot in 20 mins.
Re: Game Sack
A lot more people seem to like the Sega vs Nintendo fanboy-ish stuff. Of course, neither of us truly hates the "other side" and we both own all of the consoles, but we do like making fun of fanboys. I think if we were just sitting there talking about the games, it wouldn't stand out as much and we'd be too similar to other shows. Kind of like the AVGN doesn't really hate all games he plays with a passion, etc etc, Still, I appreciate your comments. You'll like the Arcade vs Console episode as I pick a Nintendo game as the winner.

Check out my username, watch the credits. Though I guess we don't call each other by name in every episode. I'm the one who has the better opinions. Also the one who edits the show. I'm the Sega fanboy.which one are you?

I KNEW it. Haha. I don't know why but I knew it.Redifer wrote: Check out my username, watch the credits. Though I guess we don't call each other by name in every episode. I'm the one who has the better opinions. Also the one who edits the show. I'm the Sega fanboy.
Again, no disrespect. I think the show's great and I hate most vg shows. (I hate AGVN). So whatever, take what I say however you want. Just keep the shows coming with interesting topics and I'm happy.

Actually I am enjoying your comments very much. You present the criticism well instead of the usual "u suk lol u didn't include the apple 2e version u r ghey!!"
As for sounding like a script, yes I agree and it is the thing that bothers me the most. Dave says he is willing to accept that criticism because if he doesn't read from one, his brain tries to say too many different things at once. I can understand that, so this last episode we just wrote down ideas instead of complete sentences and just recorded together, live with the wacky morning crew.
Did you think the voiceover delivery on the Wonder Boy episode sounded better than the ones on the Run n Gun episode?

Re: Game Sack
yes the Wonder Boy dialogue sounded a lot better. That's what I was going to recommend -- just write down bullet points instead of a script. If you write down say "Adventure Island is hard" instead of a script, then you'll say what you want to say about it being hard but it will sound more natural than reading line for line.Redifer wrote:Actually I am enjoying your comments very much. I just watched the 32-bit+ Controller episode. Good stuff.

Thanks, Hazerd. I try to vary up the intro now and again with different items coming out of the sack.
noiseredux, not sure what you think of the TurboGrafx-16, but that episode has basically zero Nintendo/Sega fanboy babble because everyone can agree that the Turbo/PC Engine is awesome. I think pretty much the same thing happened with the Road Rash episode (unless you listen REALLY closely to the song lyrics).

I actually like this idea. I think unboxing videos are one of the dumbest sensations that our VG communities have spawned.Redifer wrote:Thanks, guys! Yeah, I never understood how unboxing (or worse, unpackaging random used goods received in the mail) get so popular. Makes me almost want to make fun of it in an episode.

Re: Game Sack
I'll check it out -- probably tomorrow night. But I really enjoy the show and plan to keep watching all the other episodes. Very enjoyable, and non-snobby stuff. I approve.Redifer wrote: noiseredux, not sure what you think of the TurboGrafx-16, but that episode has basically zero Nintendo/Sega fanboy babble because everyone can agree that the Turbo/PC Engine is awesome. BTW I was the only kid I knew with a TG16 back in the day. So close to my heart.
