Talked with someone completely random about El Dorado (DC).

During the conversation, both of us mentioned "Holy  , somebody else knows about El Dorado?!" (All they need are discs 6 & 7 to complete their set.) Eventually the conversation inhaled other passer-bys and stuff like Crush, Crumble and Chomp! was discussed.

Long live the nerd.

Smile: Played a good Warhammer 40K game today.

Frown: Some dipshit who came into the playing room and started giving me shit about how small my army is. Yeah...funny that...I just started playing the game three weeks ago. Wrong thing to tell him as he proceeded to interfere with every single turn, quoting rules (incorrectly) and offering (bad) advice.

This is the type of person that makes getting into a new hobby difficult.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

I can't stand people like that, who feel the need to instruct and correct you on how to play a game THEIR way, which is of course the end-all way to play it because they've played the game forever. I prefer to figure out games on my own, and if I need advice I'll ask for it.

Ticked: My pops calls me to tell me a few things then gives me the "Oh yeah, and..." thing and tells me that their (my mother and father's) computer wont turn on. I get this every once in a while, and it's usually something so stupid then it takes me 5 seconds to fix and they're like, "Woooow you're so smart!"

Long story short, the cheap plastic retention bracket that holds the CPU heatsink on broke. For anyone that has installed a CPU heatsink, you'll know you have to put a fair amount of pressure on it to mount it. Knowing that, you would think that if they're gonna use plastic that it would be strong plastic. I mean, with the tension that will be on it FOREVER, you'd figure they'd make it strong enough. One of the plastic hinges failed which caused the other one on that side to crack as well. So now it's unusable, and I have to find a bracket for a 478 ASAP.

Just another thing to add to my never ending list of things to do.

edit: Forgot to mention, since this is for a 478 CPU, NewEgg doesn't have the retention brackets anymore. They have 1-2 dozen on their site, but they're all out of stock / not available. For sure there's a million on eBay, but they're probably all cheap Chinese garbage that will break again. Better anticipate that and order at least 2 of them.

edit edit: Haha, a lot of 5 for $15 shipped Priority Mail in the USA! http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-P4-Socket-4 ... 19c494c5ed

Ear to Ear smile: It's Labor Day, and I have it off. Having a Monday off is like a gift from God. I love Sundays, but usually spend the entire day prepping for Monday, so being able to relax for an extra day really is a thing of beauty. Sure, I still have some work to do from home and I need to mow the lawn, but most of the day will be spent sipping adult beverages while relaxing outside (weather permitting).

Going to grill out tonight, as in typical labor day fashion. I might throw a "Sausage Party", and no, I don't mean having a bunch of dudes over. I'm thinking knockwurst, weisswurst, mettwurst, and maybe bratwurst. Unfortunately I can't get Usinger's here, but our local Fresh Market has a decent selection of fresh sausages.

Frown: Due to my fulfillment company, I received a BBB complaint. A lady did not receive her order, which I was unaware of, and long story short we owed her $50 and some change. Well, as soon as I heard about the issue from our CFO, I called the lady and sorted things out in less than five minutes. So the issue was labeled as Resolved. But I wanted to clear the record and have her retract her complaint which she did (she's a repeat customer as well). But you can't clear a complaint; that shit stays on your permanent record, which I don't think is truly fair, but ya just have to take responsibility for others mistakes some times.
