Never had any problems with PSN as far as the few times I seldom play online. The only thing is that there are some very good XBLA exclusives. Perhaps if Microsoft dropped the price on the 360, and I had a job I would pick one up. There are a few games I want on the XBLA and on disc that look rad, but most are also on PS3, so I wouldn't pay more than 250 for one.

The 360 is currently £50 cheaper than the PS3, has a 250GB HDD and Wireless N instead of Wireless G and 160GB HDD on the PS3.Betamax001 wrote:Never had any problems with PSN as far as the few times I seldom play online. The PSP E1000 has now been confirmed for Australia as well, and will cost AU $140. So if you Australians were despairing of ever having the chance to play a wifi-less PSP upside-down, fear not.

Does anyone know if we can purchase games or download content onto our PC (then transfer to PS3)? I don't feel like updating my PS3s OS but still wanna play/buy some PSN games...noiseredux wrote:For instance, I think you can purchase games from PSN by just using MediaGo on your PC.

Not sure about recent games but you can decrypt and unpack the pkgs, remove the drm by opening the param.sfo file and changing the line that states what media type it is to free. Then rebuilding the pkg file and resigning it. IF the game came out before or around 3.55 release then the above method should work.D.D.D. wrote:Does anyone know if we can purchase games or download content onto our PC (then transfer to PS3)? So are you saying that I can go on the PSN store on my PC, buy something, then in order to transfer it to my 3.55 OFW PS3, I would need to do that in order to get it to play??Niode wrote:Not sure about recent games but you can decrypt and unpack the pkgs, remove the drm by opening the param.sfo file and changing the line that states what media type it is to free. Yes otherwise the package will not activate since it requires PSN access and you can't get on PSN because you're on 3.55. That's even if the package will allow it to be decrypted, it totally depends on the keys used. You're better off just searching torrent sites for the ones that have been decrypted already, buying them through media go and just using the 'pirated' DRM free versions. It's still illegal outside the EU, but at least the devs are getting paid.D.D.D. wrote:

This is all dependant on what distribution method Media Go uses. I have no idea how it works because I won't install Sony software on my PC as a matter of principle. If it uses PKG files then all is good and the above method will work. You need to find out what method media go uses and let me know, then I'll advise you on how to proceed.

Sounds good.
I just wish that the great CFW folk would make it so that it was completely hacked like the Wii; running fully hacked to allow us to do what we want and still be able to purchase games via the shopping channel.
Maybe in a few years...

Well there is a new device (a mod chip if you will) that is solderless on slim PS3s (soldering required on the old SKUs) that allows dual booting of firmware. So you can have the latest firmware as well as 3.55 CFW switchable at boot.D.D.D. wrote:Sounds good.

Interesting. I'm still on 3.55 too and I was wondering if there was anyway I can retrieve the PSN games i had already bought. Hmmmmmm Will look into MediaGo.
