It's like the PPG, if PPG was aimed primarily at girls and just threw bones here and there to the male audience, instead of being aimed at males in the first place. But if you find enough humor in MLP to enjoy it, go ahead and watch.

+1 for Zim, -1 for Family Guy. Family Guy really needs to retired.

Um...so it's exactly like PPG?

Though Lauren Faust said she didn't want to cater to a single demographic, which apparently she's done very well.

I've actually known far more boys who were PPG fans than girls, also, it aired on CN, not known for having a very large female audience. And the villains couldn't have been designed with girls appeal in mind, plus, the creator said that he wasn't targeting girls.

If Faust was trying to go for a wide demographic, then I'd say she did a good job. I've never seen a girl's show catch on outside the main audience like this before.

PPG was never targeted primarily at girls. That was something that eventually arose out of the merchandising, something Craig McCracken was never too happy about.

+1 for that comment. Zim was/is awesome and I'm glad I got them on DVD. It would have been much better on Adult Swim, but Nick got it and shit on it.

Family Guy was great before it got canceled, which was before Seth McFarlane became a political jackass. The show is crap and so are the spinoffs.

Simpsons also needs to die. It hasn't been consistently funny in about 10 or so seasons.

QFT!

Simpsons haven't really been funny past the 10th season, everybody knows that. But I have to admit to chuckling a bit more at the last 2 seasons than I have from 2000 on..

I agree mostly, but American Dad is a Family Guy spinoff, and I find it a hell of a lot funnier. Many of the jokes are smarter, less political crap, and few overly obscure references that aren't funny. Family Guy has way to many off the latter.

The Simpsons, Family Guy and American Dad are just these old fart, has beens that refuse to retire gracefully. Reminds me of all the has beens running around Impact Wrestling like Hogan, Sting and Rick Flair. GO AWAY!!!!!

iirc, American Dad actually got a lot better once it got a new creative team.

The Simpsons hasn't been funny in at least a decade.

Family Guy hasn't been funny since it was resurrected.
