Which console to get next.
Okay people I cant decide for myself so I turn to you, I have one space left for a console and another space for a vertical standing one (360 or Wii, Wii if some good games come out) So I put up a poll, please keep in mind when voting, the selection of games, the kinds of games i like (racing, shmups, shooters, free roam, 2d platformers), affordability, and reliability, feel free to comment and please vote! This pole will last one week. I labled which space they would go in so ill pick the top one in the "small" space and the top in the "large" space. please pm me if you have another suggestion.

Really tough to vote here, if you haven't stepped up to next gen yet it's time to do so. So it's between Wii and 360. I voted for Wii. Since I saw you have a few retro systems on there your list (NES, SNES, N64) Wii is a good choice because of the Virtual Console, where you can download some of the greatest games form previous Nintendo systems as well as Genesis, SMS, TurboGrafx and Neo Geo. Lots of 2D platformers and shmups to be found there. Plus you'll get your dose of next gen Nintendo goodness, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Zelda, Mario Galaxy, you like racing so I'll recommend Mario Kart Wii too.
If you're into First Person Shooters XBOX 360 is where it's at. I'll say pick up Halo 3, Bioshock, Orange Box, Call of Duty 4, Gears of War, and GTA 4 which comes out Tuesday. The graphics on this machine are sick, and XBOX Live rocks, best online community there is. Words of advice if you do choose 360 however, one, get a XBOX 360 Elite, and two, DO NOT PLACE IT VERTICAL! It can scratch disks, it covers a vent and can lead to a Red Ring Of Death. Don't let the RROD conspiracy scare you away from a great machine like the 360 however. Just place the system flat, horizontally, keep it dust free and keep the power brick away from the system (I've actually seen people place the power brick on top of their 360s, idoits) I've had my XBOX 360 Elite for over a year and have never had a problem with a little extra TLC.
So these are my sugguestions, take in account and games you wanna play.
With Wii you can kill a few birds with one stone so to say and get a few systems in one with the Virtual Console.
Or for pure graphics, insane First Person Shooters and great community try XBOX 360.

For small I said Wii...
reason:
1) it plays gamecube games, and uses gamecube controllers.
and
2) the 360 just shouldn't be placed up on its side... just like the PS2 shouldn't have been. I don't know why these manufacturers thought up this bright idea, but their hardware just isn't built to do it.
The 360's cooling system is not designed to relieve the cpu of all the heat when it's on its side. Also it's a lot of work to put on the DVD-ROM to have it on its side like that. Just avoid it, really... do.
For large on the other hand well I didn't vote because I can only make one choice. And I don't like any of those consoles. They all suck in my book. The genesis just performed better and had a better selection of 2D platformers, sh'mups... racing I don't know anything about. And free roaming isn't really that much of an option in those old consoles.
As for the Jaguar and N64 in the large category... the jaguar is more of a collectors item. The only quality title on it is Alien vs Predator, and even then it isn't all it's hyped up to be. Very dated now a days. Get the Jaguar only for the cred, not for the games.
The N64 on the other hand is praised all over the place for how good of a console it is. I on the other hand have yet to witness this power it supposedly has. Nintendo generally falls flat every time I pick up their consoles for the most part. The Wii is the first one to wow me, and even then... I've seen better!

for the most part i would get a Wii and play GC games on it. The Wii doesnt intrest me all that much other than in racing games and No More Heroes looked pretty cool too. And yes people, vote for your favorite console. Just depends on which 2 get the most votes. Im starting to sway towards an N64 right now as people have mentioned that as a great system.lordofduct wrote:For small I said Wii...

I'd say gamecube, simply because it's far cheaper than the Wii and honestly, there aren't really any Wii games worth getting right now if you don't have too much money. Of course, if you have the money, get the Wii like LoD said. Either one is a good buy considering all the cheap Gamecube games you can get.

wii or gc, snes if u get a flash cart from tototek, maybe.

^^ My Available List ^^
My B/S/T list
I also rent and sell PS2, Wii and XBOX softmod-kits and I collect DVD movies let me know what you have.
