Sega CD, picked up a game today and i have a ? shooters

Post by RyaNtheSlayA »

Why all the hate for Microcosm, ive seen several reviews bash it and I admit its no huge acheivment but i found it to be a pretty good shooter. Are my expectations low? How do you guys feel about it? Also is Silpheed as good as people say it is, I would really be intrested in that, also are there any other shooters for the Sega CD?

Yes, Silpheed is great. Think of it as one part Star Fox to two parts Galaga. It's a 3D shooter on rails, with organized patterns of enemies. It's by far the best shooter on SEGA CD. The backgrounds were phenomenal for the time.

I can just remember two more shooters, both side scrolling. Sol-Feace, which was a pack in for the American release of the SEGA CD, and Lords of Thunder.

LORDS OF THUNDER ROCKS! (Duo version is prettier though~)

What do you mean by duo, like 32xCD or something?
