At least lately I have a bit of a short attention span, so when I smoke, I always take advantage of the opportunity to play a game that I normally wouldn't be playing. Such as really old classic games with graphics that would normally put me off. Or RPGs, I don't really have the patience for those these days because of level grinding etc. but when I'm high, that doesn't bother me.
And I love to play racing games, but I suck beyond measure when I'm high. Obviously, that doesn't detract from the experience.
You dont really do drugs, but you get high? What on? Life?
Also, this thread made me think of this, even though it's not drugs per se:
I've smoked a little weed with friends and played Child of Eden. I feel like the game would be even better on some sort of hallucinogen, but I have never taken one.
Usually i kinda stay high so i think it kind of adds to my enjoyment of te game im not into the shrooms or acid stuff that makes you trip but ive rolled a bunch playing geometry wars and it always blows my mind lol and i mean like extasy not rolling a blunt or j
I've never done "street drugs", but I was on some pretty strong meds for some medical stuff last year and I played through Rez HD in one sitting. I was seriously in the zone, nothing else existed but the game world. Never been so focused in my life, but it was like a relaxed focus. Can't really explain it, but it was crazy.
I eat LSD 3-4 times a year, and if I'm not camping I usually play some video games. Mostly on the come up, once it gets going there's more fun things to do than game. It's important to pick games that don't put the onus on you to remember a lot of things heh.
I actually don't like playing games like Rez much while tripping. There's a little much action to deal with when all bewildered. I did enjoy Okami. Really nice to look at and lots of stuff to explore early in the game. ICO was cool too, the action parts were simple and the linear nature of the game kept me on track. I played more than a couple hours of those. I tried Pikmin once, that didn't last too long heh. Have not tried Killer 7, I tend to avoid gore but it looks stylized enough that it might work out.
If you haven't taken a psychedelic (lsd or mushrooms), you really owe it to yourself to try it. Those receptors exist in our brain all the time. Sometimes we get a little glimpse of what they're capable of, in a dream state or mystical experience. When they really get turned on, well it puts a lot of things in perspective. It's a shame we don't live in a society that gives psychedelics the respect they deserve.
But generally, if you're sitting in front of a screen while tripping you're wasting your time. Go do something non goal oriented.
We are prepared to live in the plain and die in the plain!
I'm surprised no one has mentioned LSD Dream Emulator for the PS1 Even though the name actually stands for something else (I forget what) it's very trippy.
One thing to be aware of is that "trippy" when used to describe media is usually just a bunch of non-sequiturs, with saturated colors, and trails. Nothing really gets it right.

It is impossible for me to sit still on acid, mushrooms, or when candy flipping (a combination of ecstasy and mushrooms). The only thing that has ever made it possible for me to sit down and relax on that stuff is when listening to Pink Floyd (Or something of the sort) while watching the Milkdrop plug-in on Winamp. When I play video games on that stuff, it tends to make me think there are parts of the game that don't exist. For instance, once I was playing a racing game when it kicked in, and crashed the car into the wall. When the car crashed, it looked like it split into a different universe. But in reality it was just sitting there, crashed.
