While I agree with the website's goal completely, I am upset I can't use certain phrases anymore. I fucking love saying "Why so _____ ?" The Joker had to be so awesome that now when I say "Why so serious?" people think I'm trying to be funny by mimicking the Joker. "Why so serious?" is the best way to tell some one to chill out when they're being uptight in an otherwise chill social situation. The Dark Knight had to ruin it. It is better than exclaiming "Chill out!" to the person. Even if you try to form it as a question, "Why don't you chill out?" it still comes off as a demand and might provoke a negative response. Even if you say "Why are you being so serious?" it still kinda has a negative feel to it. "Why so serious?" is an inquiry as to why the person is being uptight in a very passive way. For most, it will be taken as a rhetorical question, not to be answered, but still to let the person know they should chill out. Like, "Oh yeah... I am being too serious. I'm among friends, I shouldn't be this defensive right now." It works for many situations if you swap out 'serious' with another word. I used it just the other day on RB, "Why so defensive?" Luckily for me, most people don't think it's a Joker reference if you don't use serious. Maybe one day it will be forgotten and I can go on using it without fear of using an overused catchphrase.

If your intention was to get them to chill out and they did by thinking "oh that's the joker, cool dude, dark knight was awesome man" then your goal was still achieved. Screw what people think.

I can't really understand why anybody who collects retro goodies (a.e. this entire community) wouldn't like nintendo. They produce some of the most durable, quality hardware and sell (and resell) at a fair price. They also usually have an incredibly large and robust library of games for each system they release.


That's two things that we should almost all like here. Cheap, efficient hardware and a ton of great games to get for it. If anyone here honestly still harbors a grudge against Nintendo, I really can't understand why from a retro standpoint.
