My roomates sent me a letter telling me to do my dishes.
...they don't know my name, nor do I ever use the kitchen.
why can't they just knock on my door and ask to speak with me? I always feel like people yell at me when they write roomate letters augh.

You should leave them a snarky note telling them to do their own damn dishes rather than try to pawn their work off on you through guilt.
Or maybe not, I wouldn't want you to get into a big fight with these people.

I didn't find the article to be that bad. Yes, she does have an impression of Magic players being nerdy, unsociable, etc. I mean, who would take a woman out to a show that is based on Jeffrey Dahmer?YoshiEgg25 wrote: Ticked: What a fucking BITCH.

Ugh, that doesn't sound fun at all Ziggy.Ziggy587 wrote:Man, hospital and doctor's bills are completely fucked. This is the first time I've heard about your surgery bill, but I could only imagine the shit that you went through with it.
A couple of years back I had to get a cyst removed. They decided to inform me two days before my scheduled surgery (which I was waiting a month for!) that my insurance wasn't going to cover it. I got this news at work, the last day I was working before being off for a few weeks to recover. So I was stressing at work making calls to the hospital, the doctor, and whatnot trying to figure things out. What it comes down to is just about the biggest scam in the world.
I felt like I was talking to a used car salesman when I was on the phone with the hospital. The price of the room was $2,000. I told them I couldn't afford it. They dropped it to $1,500 and I told them I'd have to think about it. The next day, they called me before 8AM to tell me they could do it for $1,200. They literally woke me up with the call, we made plans for me to call them at 9AM. So on the phone I was like, "Uhhh, I don't know" and the lady was like "Well how about 1,100? Can you do it for that?" And it's like, how much lower can you go? When you step back and think about it, I'm negotiating the price of a room for maybe an hour. This room is needed for me to continue my life in good health. Yet I feel like I'm negotiating the price on a car. I'm about to walk away from the deal the and salesman is like, "Hold on, wait a minute, how about if I wave the DMV fees?"
Anyway, that was just one of many bullshit things I had to deal with regarding this surgery. So I could only imagine all the shit you had to deal with.
Yeah, it definitely hasn't been fun at all, took awhile to accept it (first huge debt I've ever had so it was kind of crazy at first), but luckily things seem to be turning out alright. The worst thing was originally I got a call from a collector about the debt, so naturally... they didn't give a shit about my circumstances or anything, rudest people I've ever spoken with. After a week of calls and straightening things out, it was finally back in the hands of the hospital luckily and I got into contact with someone that's been very nice and helpful about everything.
This issue is 110% the hospitals fault and their negligence though. I had a hernia that was getting bad and when I finally saw a doctor about it, they made it clear I needed to see a physician soon. So what happened was the hospital I went too for some reason had a very old address in their system that my family and I haven't been at for like 15 years. WE had to call them on the day of the surgery because we never got a call for the details since they tried calling the old home, talk about pure luck getting a hold of them and the details. At the time my mom corrected the address and everything ... supposedly! Then when I went there of course I had to do tons of paperwork, get a sponsor, things like that, made them know my family didn't have much money or any insurance and our situation, put down my address information and everything... so finally the surgery happens. A week or so later I had the checkup and never had to fill anything out which was weird.
So, 8 months later I got that collectors call. Apparently the hospital had been sending out bills and statements to that wrong address, this entire time, for 8 months. Directly after we corrected that information like 2-3 times. What a pain. 8 months in limbo about it, my parents and I were all hoping they wrote it off or something, but then it turned out to be a huge mess.
But yeah, I had to write a paper explaining the situation, plea for assistance from Healthwave that my mom knew would be denied (but the hospital said I could show them that denial to show I tried), some other assistance, had to get my parents to copy all their tax information from last year and every detail about all income in the house so it was a burden on everyone, and yeah. Paperwork/Phone calls x 100.
Finally it's all cleared up and I'm on a little payment plan for now, but yeah. Phew. Anyways, definitely hoping to hear some more good news this week regarding the rest of the bills.

Yeah, except that not only was she being condescending, but she had to have been a nerd herself; I mean, she *is* a Gizmodo editor, after all.gtmtnbiker wrote:I didn't find the article to be that bad. I agree the show might have been bad form on a first date, but that didn't seem to be her biggest complaint. Although, perhaps Jon does things like this to test his date's sense of humor?gtmtnbiker wrote:I didn't find the article to be that bad. Anyhow, the point that I interpreted she was making is that she was appalled by the fact that nerds didn't have to put something on their profiles indicating that they are, in fact, nerds. I understand it is difficult to discern someone's demeanor through text, but she did say that Jon "conned" two others she knew, and by "con" she simply meant that he did not tell them he was a nerd right from the start.
I mean, she simply rejected him for the fact that he was a nerd. He could have been the nicest, most perfect guy ever, but the fact that he played Magic meant that she would have nothing to do with him. Let's turn the tables a minute. What's one hobby that a female could have (one that doesn't do anyone/anything harm) that would cause you to instantly turn her down? I guess if you can think of one, then it's fair to agree with her. However, I cannot think of one, as I like to think I judge people on more than one hobby they might or might not have.
Anyhow, just my thoughts. Oh, and Jon should have been upset that she didn't indicate on her profile that she was a bitch.
