Same here, except when space is an issue. I have limited space with my current set up so I have to put my Ps2 upright so the other consoles can fit. The systems in my living room however, are always laying horizontally.
My two PS3s and my HD PVR take up quite a lot of space in my entertainment center. Unfortunately I need to stand my Xbox 360 up so I have enough room. I'm always worried about knocking it over and ruining the game inside.

I leave my ps3 horizontally since My setup is where the ps3 won't fit if vertically.

While we're on this, how about the Wii? It comes with the stand to be oriented vertically yet the fan is then on the bottom so it looks like it's of no use. :?

(GEN, SS x3, DC x3)*(PCE-Duo)*(Xbox:500GB)*(NGCDZ, NGPC)*(PS1, PStwo, PS3:160GB, PSP.3K)

Without getting technical, all I know is I played my B/C 60gb launch model horizontally for two years, not a hitch. I moved it into the living room for an evening, stood it up vertically and within six hours it'd YLODed. That either makes the case for laying it down, or I've just the shittiest luck.

I've always laid it down horizontally. I can't think of a single system for which it isn't at least slightly better to keep it horizontal.

I keep my consoles horizontal because trying put the disc in vertically is awkward

I leave mine horizontally. Only retarded people keep it vertically. My mom keeps hers in the vertical position. She didn't abort me when she had the chance. I rest my case.

I've always had it layed down anyway because I'm a spaz and would probably knock it over if it was upright. Reading this thread though now gives me a solid reason to keep it down.

I don't know if PS3 is the same way, but I used to play my Xbox 360 horizontally, and when the stupid thing tipped over, it destroyed my game (Spiderman 3). Scratched it up so bad it could never play again.
