Mega Man: Zero 2 Beat Me

Post by BurningDoom »

I've been playing through Mega Zero 2 for like the last 2 weeks now. That game is freaking tough as nails. Yet I still seem to keep coming back to it for more punishment. In those long 2 weeks I have beaten the intro level, and 4 robot masters.

I'm on the 2nd level after the 4 initial robot masters right now, but I think this is as far as I'm gonna be able to get. Jumping from flying car (or whatever they are) to flying car is impossible to do perfectly when you have to jump absolutely perfectly, with barely enough distance to make it, in a split-second window because the cars are moving back and forth, while a bunch a bullets are flying at you; and all without falling even once because all gaps are bottomless pits in this part. I just can't do it. And it makes me sad because as hard as this game is, I was enjoying it in some sadistic way.

This game is hards as nails indeed. It is probably one of my best gaming achievements that I managed to S rank all its missions and collect all the Cyber-Elves (there are at least 2 that are a real nightmare to collect).

a few tips: grind in the intro level to level up your weapons to max. this will really help out. Play the levels repeatedly to know where enemies are, and what's where. Once you know what to do and where to go, the game isn't nearly as challenging. Also make sure you maintain at least an A average. The bosses will only give you their EX moves and you'll only get the better forms with a high ranking. The EX moves make the game a lot easier.

I've never had any trouble with Zero 2, or any of the Zero series, but I have heard a lot of people say they are too hard.

May I ask what your button set up is? Because I know that the default is often part of the problem.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

I don't think the Zero games are that hard in general either, but it's getting the S ranks that's excruciating.

Oh yeah, that is also worth mentioning. The Zero games are pretty damn awesome but F**k getting S-Rank. Not enough hours in the day for that kind of practice.

I have to admit I felt pretty invincible when I managed to S-rank. I even bloody managed to get 100 in some of the last levels. To S-rank you sort of need to speed run it while barely getting hit.

I got Mr. Perfect in Mega Man 10 and all achievements in both MM9/MM10, will these games be hard to me? Haha.

I haven't even played 10 yet. And I haven't given 9 a fair chance yet because I get involved with other games. But when I first downloaded it and tried it out, it was tough as heck. It felt like Mega Man 1.

Sometimes when a game is just punishment, it's time to move on to something actually fun.
 (FC, AVFC, NES, SFC x2, SNES, N64, GC x2, Wii x2)*(G&W x7, GB, GBpocket, GBASP, DS-L x2)
(GEN, SS x3, DC x3)*(PCE-Duo)*(Xbox:500GB)*(NGCDZ, NGPC)*(PS1, PStwo, PS3:160GB, PSP.3K)
