I'm not so sure it's that easy. If they had to re-film and re-do the audio then they'd probably have to re-program a lot of stuff, as well? Video & computer technology has come a long way in 20 years. I don't think it would be as easy as dragging and dropping video files into a folder from 20 years ago and expecting everything to match up pefectly. A lot of changes would have to be made. The video editing alone would be a pain.

They actually DID re-film actors for the game before they canceled and decided to just do ports. Check it out:
The one we're getting is called the Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection, the one we were going to get before was called the Mortal Kombat HD Kollection which was true 1080p with new actors and backgrounds. That's prob why the one we're getting is only 800 MS points/10 bucks. I hope these ones will at least upscale and have optional filters.

well i wasnt sure if those screens were real but i did hear about them filming new actors before cancelling it. also, has anyone seen reviews for this kollection? apparently, its terrible. just 3 roms slapped onto a single menu game and the online doesnt even work. No extras or unlockables. People also say that the AI cheats and that it's so hard, that it's not fun. Some are even going as far to say it's the worst port they've ever played.
