Best Shooter with Motion Controls?

Post by Weekend_Warrior »

Now that the market has a lot of first and third-person shooters with motion controls on the Wii and PS3 w/Move, I'm curious what everyone's vote for "Best Shooter with Motion Controls" would be?

Unfortunately, I haven't played any on Move yet. But I do own a few on the Wii - Metroid Prime Trilogy, CoD: World at War, MoH: Vanguard, and Red Steel 2. And so far I'd say Red Steel 2 is the best out of that bunch (although that's probably not saying much). *I also own RE4 but I wouldn't really call it a "shooter"*

I know that The Conduit 1 & 2, CoD: Modern Warfare Reflex, CoD: Black Ops, Medal of Honor Heroes 2 and Goldeneye 007 are all supposed to be highly regarded on the Wii. But I've yet to play them. :?

..and Killzone 3 and Socom 4 are supposed to be pretty good on the PS3 with Move. Especially in 3D. But again, I haven't been able to try them yet since I don't own a PS3. :(

Are there any other great games that I'm missing? And what gets your vote for the best so far??
"Welcome to the circus of values!"

Currently Playing: Crysis (360), Destiny demo (PS3), Roadblasters (MAME)

I think Goldeneye 007 on Wii is the best loved FPS with motion controls. But, since the special edition came with a classic controller pro, I would assume it's better with that controller.

Killzone 3 with Move and 3D is great. Only complaint of the 3D is it does play in 720p and there is a little bit of ghosting, but the game does the 3D bit very well, I didn't notice this at all in 2D running at 1080p. As far as the motion control goes (I use the gun contraption thingy with the move combo) it gives mouse like accuracy BUT you lose the fluency of strafe L/R. Your left analog stick walks, reverse and turns L/R, but to strafe you need to drag the cross-hair on screen to the sides. The learning curve is massive but when you get the hang of it the hindrance of character movement with the loss of strafe is definitely overcome with the increase of accuracy.

On a side note, Motorstorm Apocalypse is AMAZING in 3D!!!! anyone with PS3/3DTV should at the very least pick it up used.

I've not played it either, but I thought that they did the classic controller so they could do a gold one like with the original N64 pack in

I've played thru World at War, The Conduit and Red Steel 1 and 2. Red Steel 1 has awful controls and while the sequel is excellent, its the swordplay that is the main attraction. I really enjoyed the Conduit though

My favorite FPS w/ motion controls by far is CoD: Modern Warfare Reflex. It handles surprisingly well and controls are a breeze to play with since all the main buttons you use are easy to press.

Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles is an excellent motion-controlled shooter that takes a lot of inspiration from the House of the Dead arcade games.
