I suddenly am reminded of all those people who said they'd kill themselves if Sonic was in Brawl.BRIK wrote:The day I see mainstream shitheads wearing Saturn shirts will be my last.

Re: 80's nostalgia and the inevitable impending 90's nostalgia
I grew up in the 80s, I was raised on everything from Atari to Transformers and loved (still do) every minute of it. I have accepted the nostalgic craze that follows those things and everything in between, although I'm not thrilled with some of the movies and cartoon remake/revamps either. Still, I think to be fair you have to keep an open mind to them. I own PLENTY of nostalgic T-shirts and enjoy it. I love taking that stroll down memory lane! To sum it up, I am a nostalgic freak!
I am addicted to video games, especially retro gaming from my era. I have: NES, SNES, Nintendo 64, Gamecube, Gameboy, GBA, Wii, Sega Genesis, Sega CD, Dreamcast, PS1, PS2, Xbox, and Xbox 360. I have probably over 1,000 games in total for all these systems combined. Yes, I need help and I wouldn't have it any other way! This is my passion and hey my wife still loves me!!

Um, I guess it's not really the nostalgia itself I'm dreading. It's the way movie companies and clothing manufacturers are going to take advantage of it. I myself have 90's nostalgia, as a matter of fact. 90% (heh) of my favorite shows ran during the 90's.KillerJuan77 wrote:I must admit I'm guilty of having 90's nostalgia, I love Dexter's Laboratory, Johnny Bravo, Cow And Chicken, Hey Arnold, Ahhh! Real Monsters, Rugrats (Which happens to have a fantastic movie: Rugrats In Paris) and Rocko's Modern Life and I still watch those shows. Those were the good times.

Who gives a damn what "mainstream hipsters" and movie companies do? I sure as hell don't.

Besides, isn't the phrase "mainstream hipsters" an oxymoron?brunoafh wrote:Who gives a damn what "mainstream hipsters" and movie companies do? I sure as hell don't.
... at the very least, it's confusing...

It has, oddly enough, become mainstream to be a hipster. In a way, we are hipsters for not being hipsters.NintendoLegend wrote:Besides, isn't the phrase "mainstream hipsters" an oxymoron?brunoafh wrote:Who gives a damn what "mainstream hipsters" and movie companies do? I sure as hell don't.
