spoke with one of the workers who I always see run Video Games Plus ( formerly known as Rock & Sports ) I was surprised to see his arsenel of rare games.
Well, we were having a conversation on how theoretically that the Vita was going to kick the crap out of the 3DS and that the 3DS is turning out to be more of a flop in terms of Nintendo's high standards. We also agreed that the Vita has a good opportunity to make a killing when it comes out from this.
I was talking and personally believed that once the Vita comes out, the PSP is going to be forgotten, he disagreed and believed that Sony doesn't like to give up on things.
What do you all think? Do you think the PSP has more lives left? at least trying to get some more games out here? Though I see some great rpg's that come out for my favorite little system, the number of titles that come out is like 1 a month and they're usually the play it safe titles such as Final Fantasy and Naruto with some movie based games. I think here in America, they're going to leave it for dead when the Vita comes out.

The PSP is in a weird state. It's doing fantastically in Japan but it's pretty dead in the west. I wouldn't be surprised to see SoA drop support for the PSP when the Vita comes out but SoJ keep it going like Sony did with the PS2.

The PSP should have an expanded lifespan if they continue to release PS1 games available for download.

SoA is Sega America and SoJ is Japan. SCEA = Sony US, SCEJ = Sony Japan. Unless you meant Sega.MrPopo wrote:The PSP is in a weird state. What I would LOVE to see instead is some more DS games come out. The handheld is definitely popular enough for Atlus or other 3rd party developers to release games for my favorite handheld
Anyways, only niche developers can keep the Psp from giving it's last breath (in the U.S)

Agreed. Although I think publishers are over the piracy rate on it and won't bother except shovelware.swiftzx wrote:What I would LOVE to see instead is some more DS games come out. Well I know that I personally still have to buy a PSP. Whether that's before or after the Vita comes out is irrelevant.

Well hey, the PS1 was still getting games released for it until 2004 and the PS2 still is. The fact that Sony like to hold onto their consoles is a true one.

I think the big difference is that those two consoles were also wildly successful, while the psp... wasn't so much.BRIK wrote:Well hey, the PS1 was still getting games released for it until 2004 and the PS2 still is. The fact that Sony like to hold onto their consoles is a true one.
