I myself don't use it myself since I prefer text that can be restudied. Once you build up positive rapport maybe you can jump in that.
Not trying to sound like a jerk....but do you know what a podcast is?
I thought the same thing

I know its not quite the same that AmericanMuffin is pushing for. But that is one way to hear members, though its mainly Interviews.

I just thought it would be a better idea to discuss things with voice, I personally like Raidcall, though. We should use that and make a test server and see how it works out.

ok, now... what is a Ventrillo server? I honestly don't know. Why do you think it's something that we should have?
It's like voice chat that doesn't use a lot of bandwidth, and you can have a lot of people at once,

shameless self-promotion: while the podcast has featured forum members 2 or 3 times, there are more than 20 episodes which have little or nothing at all to do with the forum or the people on it. It is basically an NPR-style interview-based podcast that tries to be a web version of an interesting radio show. I interview folks who are or have been in the games industry, who are in some way involved in retro game culture (modding, fan communities, music, etc.), or who have done other interesting gaming-related things. I am really proud of the stable of guests we've had, and that they have by in large included people who aren't active in the community here (a show which could potentially be interesting in its own right, of course). Anyway, since you are someone who is always seeking more information, I'd bet the show is right up your alley. You don't need an ipod or anything to listen, either - each episode can be streamed right on the page where it is posted: http://www.racketboy.com/category/retro/podcast

Okay, now that would be cool.

For the same reasons that I don't like "talk radio", I don't care for podcasts. I'm a visual guy who prefers to read or look at videos unless it's music.

We need an IP ban. As long as we don't have one, people like dr_subtitles and anyone else we don't like can make as many comebacks as they please.

We do IP ban, it's just not that fool proof.
