No More Heroes: Heroes' Paradise is the worst gaming purchase I have made in quite some time. Just wanted to make others aware. It is a terrible port. Not even worth the price of admission at the current Best Buy/Amazon price of $30
There is screen tearing all over the place just about everywhere in the game. You literally cannot move without some tearing somewhere on the screen. Any time there is a panning shot it's unbearable for me The frame rate stutters all over the place too. There are probably other issues, but I decided to sell/trade in this game after 30 minutes. Maybe it won't bother others as much. Sure bothers me! There is more screen tearing than I have seen in every other game I have ever played combined.
It is unfortunate because the Move controls feel a lot better to me than with the Wii remote. And the extras are nice (I'm guessing? Didn't make it far enough to try). The graphics are slightly better but way too shiny. Does everyone coat themselves in vaseline? Seems to be a fairly common occurrence this generation.
Anyway... If you want to play No More Heroes I urge you to stick with the Wii versions. They have issues too but are much better overall. The PS3 version is a lazy botched port that should have never seen the light of day. That is all.
Unparalleled amount of screen tearing in No More Heroes...
Re: Unparalleled amount of screen tearing in No More Heroes...
Really? And here I thought CAPCOM re-worked the game from the ground up to take advantage of the PS3 hardware. (From the stills online, everything is brighter... which makes the game look a lot different than the grittier/grainier Wii version.)
A bit surprised there's stutter; that's pretty craptacular. Doesn't this have an XBOX version as well? (And the extras are essentially more nudity.)

My scheduling skills have died of dysentery; I hope to visit at least on a monthly basis.
Still, don't forget to tip your waitress.

I saw the PS3 demo and I can confirm everything ZenErik says except the controls--I didn't bother playing with that much screen tearing going on.
The graphics aren't a huge improvement, IMO. Looks like the same model geometry, but without the semi-cell-shaded "graphic novel" look. Takes away some of the charm, IMO, and exposes how much less detailed the models are compared to games designed for PS3 and 360. The only pluses I was able to notice were the higher display resolution, and some nice glow effects from your weapon as it casts colored lighting on walls and floors that it passes near.

Somehow, the PS3 version has managed to be worse than the Wii version! I played the demo through with PS Move controls, which are actually less accurate than the Wiimote controls; I was constantly flailing around, frantically trying to get movements to register. The added sensitivity in the Move hardware is not implemented, and adds absolutely nothing to the game. I struggled to find any graphical improvements over the Wii version except for an increased resolution. In short, it is a terrible port that is inferior to the original.

If you want it, it's yours. Otherwise I am just going to trade it in.noiseredux wrote:I'll take yr PS3 versionI haven't bought it yet.

sounds like this is one to stay away from. I'll stick to the Wii version.

Really? The Move controls worked much better for me. On the Wii I sometimes feel like I need to whip the controls a bit to get the wrestling moves to register. No such issues with the Move. But the rest of the experience sucked.lisalover1 wrote:Somehow, the PS3 version has managed to be worse than the Wii version!
