Why don't we have a YouTube embed?

Let strength be granted, so the world might be mended...so the world might be mended.

Not only is it ugly, it encourages people to post stupid videos I don't want to watch. And it makes the page take longer to load, and something I really like about this place is the fast page loads.OldSchool_Boy wrote:I've seen Youtube embedded forums and they aren't pretty when you scroll down and see videos in every signature.AmericanMuffin wrote:OldSchool_Boy wrote:The forum would get ugly pretty fast. Why do you say that?

I wonder how long it'll take Dr_Subtitles to get himself banned on Ebay too?Opa Opa wrote:I feel sorry for the poor bastard that bought that broken vectrex he was selling.Czernobog wrote:As unlikely as it might seem....it looks like DrSubtitles has made a sudden return just now:

Re: Why don't we have a YouTube embed?
I haven't read through this entire thread yet so forgive me if this has been brought up already. However, I could not ignore this:
I think the real reason that this place doesn't have embedded videos is because the forum software does not currently support it. It used to be that way on vBulletin 3.x (which is still the best version of that forum, IMO) so I had to write my own Youtube embed code for it at the-magicbox.com and Sega-16. It works. It's not cluttered at all. A Random Video Thread or other threads dedicated to video would likely have tons of Youtube posts, but as far as other threads, it would probably be sporadic at best.
Any forum that wants to have a clean look would never allow signatures, no how, no way. They clutter up the forums more than anything else ever could. This place even allows images in sigs. So much useless clutter over and over again in the body of the post whenever a user with a signature posts. I turn them off completely, so I have no idea which of you have sigs or not.Hobie-wan wrote:We generally prefer a cleaner looking forum.

How exactly will you "show them"?AmericanMuffin wrote:Are you guys saying Im going to be banned?I'll show you!
Second, is this a cry for help or something? I just can't pinpoint what it is you're doing on this forum (or think you're doing).
Most people come to talk shop, games, etc, yet it seems like you're begging for attention. Possibly you are too young (and or immature) to be on the internet or rather RB (plenty of places for immaturity on the web).
I still think this is a trolling act of someone banned because this is just so surreal.

I can't believe we're still on this thread talking about it! I'll talk retro games with you guys, but if you have a problem with me, PM me. And since the topic of this discussion is over, I need a mod over here to lock this, because it's getting the wrong type of attention.D.D.D. wrote:How exactly will you "show them"?AmericanMuffin wrote:Are you guys saying Im going to be banned?I'll show you!

It does not have embedded videos because the consensus is that embedded videos are not wanted. If they were wanted the software would be adjusted to allow.Redifer wrote:I

Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?
