Well, that was the temp on my patio, which collects the afternoon sun and heat. The actual temp outside was 101 or 102 I think. However, that 110 was 3 feet to the left of my desk with only a sliding glass door and some vertical blinds between us.

I spoke to a manager and she was pretty nice, but said they're filled up, BUT she got my name and information saying she puts the people who call on top of the pile of applicants. So that's good, but I'm wishing I definitely would have called sooner. lol, anyone here experienced or know anything about the company? I always hear good things, great benefits, great starting pay, easy to move around when you get it, though I do hear they're competitive to get in unless you know someone. Worth a blind shot though.
I worked at Costco for a year; great company to work for. The benefits an' pay are good, like you said, and in order to move up or around you really do need to get to know the management. You won't get anywhere without their help, so yeah... If you want to get where you want to go you've gotta be persistent an' make an effort to get noticed.

Other than that, though, I had a blast working there.
Awesome. Any suggestions out of the norm on getting in there? I hear it's pretty competitive unless you know someone at the store, which I do not.

Smile: Well technically this made me smile yesterday: Sushi with friends.

We've got an excellent sushi restaurant and I've become culinary friends with the owner/head itamae. I try to bring at least five friends every time I go to help the business, and we had a group of eight last night. As usual, I don't order anything, I trust the itamae with his decisions. I had at least five different rolls, but the meal started off with Tuna cheek. Delicious, melt in your mouth raw tuna cheek.

After a few shots of sake with the chefs, the free food started flowing. Oh man, it's been 12 hours, and I'm still stuffed.

So Hobie, is TX too hot for you? Do you think you might want to move further north one day?

In the Boston area, we had one week where we had 3 days in the mid 90s. Otherwise, the summer has been perfect - 70s through the 80s.

NICE! :)

I was going to say that finishing my sales report (took about 7 hours) made me smile, but Stark's response made me smile even more.

I knew the head store manager at the time, lol, so I had help getting in there. But, calling in, like you did, to confirm your app really does make a difference; they want to see people take the initiative.

Right now it is 92, 53% humidity, heat index 100 at 12:30 PM. Forecast high is 102 which probably means it will be around 110 on my patio again in the late afternoon.

I've lived here in the swamp coast all my life so I'm used to it. This is the worst it has ever been for long stretches of 100+ temps and lack of rain. However I do remember worse occasional days from when I was little when it would be 90+ for both temp and humidity if it had just rained briefly then been sunny again.
