Best way to store games/systems when moving?

Post by itsmattxp »

Was wondering what the best way to store some games/systems were for moving. I have a lot of MVS games in shockboxes and really don't want them to get defected through the move in. I also have a lot of consoles, that I wouldn't want to get dust/grim/etc on and was thinking of putting them in huge gallon ziplock bags if they fit, like how shoe collectors put their shoes in zip lock bags to prevent yellowing. Any tips?

This is kind of ghetto but a couple times when I moved I filled boxes with my clothes and wrapped my consoles with jackets and thick clothing. Killed two birds with one stone!
I even did this when I moved back to the U.S. My stuff arrived the way I packed them even though they traveled by ship across the Pacific.

Your games should pack tightly in a small box like you would with books. If it's a large number of loose carts then use some packing paper/clothes to make sure everything's snug. Consoles I would wrap with packing paper/clothes to keep them from ramming in to one another and chipping and then just put them all in a box. Add some more packing paper/clothes so that there isn't a lot of air so movement is fairly minimal.

I always end up wrapping fragile things in clothes and blankets when I move too. Stick them in double thick boxes if you can get hold of some.
