it isn't the color, it is the material - working it into the groove and around corners is a pain. I read some tips earlier tonight though to heat up the molding first, so may try that tomorrow.

Maybe break out the hair dryer to use while working on it.

Where is Bacteria
For the straight edges U Shaped Aluminum Angle will look nice. Problem is it won't work on curves. Maybe black rubber molding, something like a door threshold seal?
