That ad-hoc thingy allows you to play online games through your PS3's internet connection right? So, would you still be able to play online PSP games through your PS3 if you got the version without Wi-Fi?
No. Unless the USB connection allows it, which as far as I know, it doesn't. It just uses it for hardware verification. They could fix it with a firmware update to the PS3 though.

This is very good news for me, as I have yet to pick up a PS3, but recently became interested in investing in one (Catherine made me do it).

I was only gonna buy a used 60gb, but I don't think I'll be able to keep myself from dropping a little extra cash on a brand new console with nearly 3x as much space.

You could always get the 60gb for the backwards compatibility, then switch out the hard drive for more space.

Probably be cheaper that way.

I think Kinect needs a price drop before the 360. There's no way it should be the same price as a Wii w/Mario Kart

Unless you need another game player for the other room, why not just get a good BR player instead? Probably save you a hundred bucks or more.

You can get way cheaper and much better bluray players than a PS3...

you realize Catherine isn't on PSP, though right? Just making sure. Either way, I love my PSP. Though I feel like the lack of wifi is really gonna suck. Though I guess there will be workarounds. For instance, I think you can purchase games from PSN by just using MediaGo on your PC.

Actually Nintendodork, if you really want a PSP you should just get one through the forums. I feel like they're always popping up in sale threads here for under $80.
