does yr wife like Kristen Bell? I thought You Again was both funny and really strange.Stark wrote:Anyone have recommendations for a more light-hearted recent movie? I guess my wife is getting annoyed with all these "depressing" movies I watch. Even SALT was bringing her down. Anyway, I'm thinking like Tracy/Hepburn or Hudson/Day type feeling, are there even movies like that any more?
What was the last movie you've seen?

Hmm that looks tolerable.

Thanks for the suggestions! Is Owen Wilson overly Owen Wilson-y in Midnight in Paris? Does that even make sense?

Question: how many of the above movies star Kristen Bell?Stark wrote:Thanks for the suggestions! Is Owen Wilson overly Owen Wilson-y in Midnight in Paris? Does that even make sense?
Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
Owen Wilson is more Woody Allen-y, but since that's who directed it, it makes perfect sense. It's a good movie though. It's got humor, and romance and time travel and I didn't find it depressing in the slightest. The others listed are great too, but the Help, while excellent and humorous, does have some sad/downer moments, so if she wants something more light-hearted you might want to skip that one for now.Stark wrote:Thanks for the suggestions! Rise of the Planet of the Apes
I loved this move so much, I had so much hesitation going to see, but I enjoyed every minute of it. Can't wait to see a sequel.

Robin Hood, the one with Kevin Costner and Alan Rickman. Not bad, but not really that great either. Just meh.

I have a real soft spot for this film as it was one of my favorites when I was in Middle School. I haven't seen the new Russel Crowe remake, but Prince of Thieves is second only to the Errol Flynn classic for me. It has a great cast, is well directed, has a memorable score, and really witty dialogue.Rurouni_Fencer wrote:"Why a spoon, why not a knife or an axe?"BurningDoom wrote:Robin Hood, the one with Kevin Costner and Alan Rickman.
