I Just got a saturn!!!

Post by ubelaffe »

I found a console, my friends at the local thrift store were holding it for me, for $10. I had the power cord (universal ps2, dc, saturn, xbox). and It came with Primal Rage. I traded a bunch of stuff that I had around $14-20 in and got the saturn rf cable, 3d controller, free 3rd party blockbuster controller, dreamcast keyboard and a universal power cord for nes/genny. I only dropped a $10 bill for that when I was done. I'm so happy. Just felt I'd share.

I asked about rare third party controllers before, but anyway...

It's just a controller from blockbuster video. 6 button, adjustable turbo. I have a similar one for the genesis.

Yay, always good to see Sega products moving out of those crappy stores where the carode and collect dust.

Mind if I piggyback on this thread? I'm picking up a Saturn tomorrow that I found through craigslist with: console, steering wheel and games (virtua Fighters 2, NHL Hockey, Godzilla, NHL Hockey 98, Madden 97, The Need for Speeed, Virtua Cop and Daytona USA). Is that a decent deal for $30? I don't have a Saturn and haven't really priced one so I don't know.

The person that's selling doesn't know anything about it. Could it already have a mod chip? From what I can find that Godzilla game is a Japanese import.

Yeah thats a good deal for the Saturn. And if the seller doesn't know it's mod-chipped, it's probably not.

On topic... I too would like to see a pic of your blockbuster controller. :)

Ubelife, you got a nice deal. What did you have to trade in?

Thats a good deal on the Saturn, but hopefully the inside it a bit less dusty. You'll need to really clean that sucker up and get it nice and shiniy like it should be. If godzilla is an import he may have just used action replay or another import key to play it. You need one of those or you'll have to mod it to play imports. Also having a memory card to back up your saves will help. If you keep getting the time/date screen when you start, you'll need to replace the batteries or your saves will be erased when you turn it off.

Also, blockbuster.....
I have one of the blockbuster genesis controllers, and it's nothing special. It's a standard 3 button genesis controller with a blockbuster sticker on the back. No offical SEGA logo. I'm assuming the Saturn ones are the same way. No?

I traded in a lot of partial pieces. cd attachment for a turbo grafx that might not work(no power supply), a couple ea games for genny, some loose atari parts, a broken nes stick, (ascii i think) snes fight stick, and a super scope reciever. There were a couple pieces that looked okay, but the rest was pretty shoddy and incomplete. I had around $14 in the lot I traded. I might could have gotten more out of some of the stuff, but I'd tried to get rid of it in the past and been unsuccessful. The guy at the store and I both left happy with the transaction.

I've got to get some batteries or something and load a few pics.
